Luonan County Museum is located in the Confucian Temple Courtyard, No.37 Zhongfu Street, Chengguan, Luonan County. It is a comprehensive history museum based on the Confucian Temple complex, which belongs to Luonan County Cultural Relics and Tourism Bureau.
Luonan County Museum was established in 1984. It is a new unit separated from Luonan County Cultural Center, formerly known as Luonan County Cultural Center Cultural Relics Group. 1In April, 984, Luonan County Museum was established relying on the ancient buildings of Confucian Temple. The whole museum covers an area of 3 1 15 square meters. At the beginning of the establishment of Luonan County Museum, it took over all kinds of cultural relics 1000 in the original cultural center, and initially formed a collection system. At the same time, the museum has conducted extensive investigations and focused collections on the east, west and north roads of the county, collecting more than 2,000 cultural relics.
Luonan County Museum is rich in collections, including fossils, stone tools, bronzes, ironware, pottery, ancient coins, ancient calligraphy and painting, versions of ancient books, revolutionary cultural relics and miscellaneous items. The total number of cultural relics in the museum is 4455. Among them, fossils 124, stone tools 248, bronzes 272, silverware 137, pottery 443, ancient coins 1836, ancient calligraphy and painting 337, ancient book versions 608, revolutionary cultural relics 16, and miscellaneous items 333. Important collections include the New Jue Cup with Black Glazed Lamp in Song Dynasty and Ten Screens of Shu Embroidery in Qing Dynasty.
As a major feature of the museum, there are more than 400 paleolithic collections with complete categories and abundant quantities. Including choppers, sharp tools, fishing nets, stone balls, stone cores, scrapers, bone needles, grinders, etc. It fully reflects the living conditions of prehistoric people and is a valuable material for studying prehistoric society.
The Confucian Temple, where Luonan Museum is located, is in a vertical and symmetrical layout. On the vertical axis, the main buildings are screen wall, Star Gate, Chi Pan, Shinto, platform, Dacheng Hall and East-West Wing from south to north, which are divided into two courtyards with Jiyumen as the boundary.
Since 1993, the museum has held many exhibitions, such as "Unearthed Cultural Relics Exhibition in Luonan County", "Collection of Fine Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition" and "Mao Zedong Emblem Exhibition", which have been exhibited in various towns and villages. At the turn of the century, an exhibition of famous paintings and calligraphy works of Luonan in the 20th century was held, and 87 paintings and calligraphy works of Luonan in the 20th century were collected and exhibited. This exhibition has become a special exhibition of the museum because of its unique design, novel concept and rich exhibits.
In terms of archaeological excavation and scientific research, Luonan County Museum, together with Shaanxi Institute of Archaeology (Institute), Shangluo District Cultural Management Association and many museums from Canada and Toronto, has identified 268 types of wilderness on terraces with different heights above the second level on both sides of Nanluo River and its tributaries in Luonan Basin through nine years of investigation and excavation of paleolithic sites, and obtained a total of various stone products 13579. At the same time, through 1995 to 1997 for three consecutive years, we have obtained more than 20 kinds of mammal, bird and aquatic animal fossils, as well as a large number of human cultural relics and relics, including human life footprints, ashes, burnt stones, burnt bones and more than 77,000 stone products. In addition, the museum also cooperated with Shaanxi Institute of Archaeology and Shangluo Municipal Cultural Management Committee to compile the book "Study on Wilderness Paleolithic Sites in Luonan Basin".
