2. Introduction to the author:
Zhong Ren was born in Shangyu, Huiji, and his ancestors migrated to Huiji from Yuancheng, Wei County. Wang Chong takes the natural inaction of Taoism as the purpose of his argument, and takes "heaven" as the highest category of his view of heaven. With "Qi" as the core category, the natural gasification of vitality, essence and harmony constitutes a huge universe generation model, which is opposite to the theory of induction between man and nature.
It shows the characteristics of Taoism, which advocates nature of life and death, thin burial and rebelling against deified Confucianism. He verified his remarks with facts and made up for the defects of Taoism. It is an important inheritor and developer of Taoist thought in Han Dynasty. Lun Heng is Wang Chong's masterpiece and an immortal atheistic work in China's history.
Wang chong s achievements and his philosophical thoughts;
Wang Chong's achievements:
Wang Chong likes reading extensively, but he doesn't recite chapters. He is good at arguing. At first, his words seemed strange, but in the end he came to a real conclusion. He believes that most vulgar scholars lost the essence of Confucianism when they were studying, so they closed their doors and refused to celebrate everything. There are knives and pens on the windows and walls. He wrote eighty-five articles on Balance, explaining the similarities and differences of everything and correcting the doubts at that time.
Philosophical thought:
Wang Chong believes that heaven and earth are natural material entities without will, and the movement and change of everything in the universe and the generation of things are the results of natural inaction. He believes that everything is produced by the "Qi" of matter and the movement of nature, and the competition among creatures is due to the differences in strength, momentum and dexterity of actions of various creatures. This is not the intentional arrangement of God, and God is not a personality god with the will of nature.
