Brief introduction of Hua Tao

His main research interests are the history of ethnic groups in northwest China, the history of Sino-foreign relations and the history of Chinese Islam. Be familiar with the historical development of the northwest nationalities in China, and be able to make good use of historical materials in eastern languages such as Arabic to engage in historical research of the northwest nationalities. He completed three national social science fund projects, Ford fund project 1, Macao sar government project 1, published dozens of papers, and published the monograph "Historical Research of Western Regions (8 to 10 century)" (Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House, 2000), and won the first prize of the seventh outstanding achievement award of philosophy and social sciences in Jiangsu Province (2006) Co-authored Xinjiang, China: Historical Development of Multi-ethnic Areas (Xinjiang People's Publishing House, 2009), and translated Modern People, the fourth volume of Central Asian Civilization History: 750 to/end of Kloc-0/5 (edited by M.S. Asimov and C.E. Bosworth, translated by Hua Tao, translated by China Foreign Translation Publishing Company, 2009). In recent years, he has paid close attention to the contemporary development of ethnic minorities in China, engaged in the investigation of contemporary ethnic society (National Social Science Fund) and the study of contemporary ethnic policies. Hosted the Nanjing University-Harvard University International Conference on Dialogue between China Culture and Islamic Cultural Civilization (2002, 2005, 2006). Engaged in cooperative research abroad for many times.
