The details can't be verified, which can only prove that Hua Tuo has made remarkable achievements in dental treatment.

Zhang Zhongjing also recorded toothache in Synopsis of the Golden Chamber, which is said to be the earliest and most comprehensive prescription for toothache.

Ge Hong put forward a dental health care method of stuttering and percussion, which is very effective by tapping the upper and lower teeth gently. Li Dongyuan also put forward a prescription for toothache, and was the first doctor to treat toothache systematically, adopting different treatment methods for different patients and symptoms.

Li Shizhen recorded many prescriptions for treating dental diseases in Compendium of Materia Medica, which had a certain effect.
