As shown in the figure, the ancient poem "Thinking about a Quiet Night" was entered in Word20 10, and now it is necessary to automatically add Chinese Pinyin.
Select the part where pinyin needs to be added. Both the text and the title need to be added with Chinese Pinyin, so they are all selected. Then click Pinyin Guide on the Font menu of the Home tab.
At this time, you can see the "Pinyin Guide" dialog box pop up. You can adjust the format of the hanyu pinyin to be inserted according to your needs.
After setting all the data as shown in the figure, click "OK" and you can see that every word is marked in Chinese Pinyin. Among them, "alignment" refers to the Chinese pinyin of each word and the arrangement format of Chinese characters; "Offset" refers to the distance between Chinese Pinyin and Chinese characters. The greater the value, the greater the distance. "Font" and "font size" both refer to the font and font size of Chinese pinyin, which has nothing to do with the font and font size of the original text.
For some cases with long pinyin, it will affect the arrangement of the original text and make the format of the original text irregular. This can be solved by setting the "character spacing". Click the arrow in the lower right corner of the Font menu on the Home tab.
In the font dialog box that pops up, under the Advanced tab, select Widening as the spacing, set the appropriate point size, and then click OK.

For some polyphonic words, when they are in phrases, Word can generally input the correct pronunciation. However, when it is necessary to add pinyin to a single word, the first pronunciation of the Chinese character (sorted alphabetically) is usually inserted, which needs to be checked and modified in the Pinyin Guide dialog box.
