What are the TCM syndrome differentiation methods for treating oral ulcer?

(1) spleen and stomach heat accumulation type. Symptoms include multiple erosions and sores on the tongue body and surface, redness and swelling on the sore surface, burning pain, even bad breath, swollen gums, constipation in urine Huang Chi, red tongue with yellow fur and slippery pulse.

To treat oral ulcer, it is necessary to clear away heat, purge fire and clean stomach heat.

(2) Yang deficiency of spleen and kidney. Symptoms include sores on the mouth, lips and tongue, white ulcer surface, less redness around it, which can't be cured for a long time, accompanied by tepid limbs, dry mouth and hot drinks, backache, frequent urination, loose stool, pale tongue with greasy fur and weak pulse. Warming spleen and kidney, causing fire to return to the source, is one of the methods to treat oral ulcer.

(3) Spleen and stomach weakness. Symptoms include recurrent oral and tongue ulcers, pale and sunken face, fatigue, shortness of breath, loss of appetite, tepid limbs, loose stool, pale tongue with white fur and rapid pulse.

It is advisable to replenish the middle energizer, strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness.

(4) Yin deficiency of heart and kidney. The symptoms of ulcer are bright red in color, numerous in number, with different shapes and sizes, mild pain in daytime and severe pain at night, accompanied by palpitation, insomnia, dreaminess, forgetfulness, dizziness, tinnitus, soreness of waist and knees, dry throat and dry mouth, short and yellow urine, red tongue with thin coating and rapid pulse. It is advisable to nourish yin and clear fire, nourish the heart and soothe the nerves.

(5) Exogenous toxic aphtha. Most of them are 1 ~ 2 days after exogenous diseases, accompanied by exogenous symptoms.
