The source is blumea DC. The roots, buds and leaves of Blumea in Compositae are used as medicine. Harvest in summer and autumn, fresh or dried in the shade.
The original form is a large annual or perennial herb or shrub, sometimes tree-shaped, and the whole plant is densely covered with yellow and white fluff, up to 3 meters high, with a fragrant smell. The stems are erect, lignified, multi-branched and bluish white. Simple leaves alternate, short stalked or sessile. Leaf blade is elliptic or elliptic-lanceolate, with irregular serrations at the edge, green pubescence at the top and silvery white fluff at the bottom. Flowering from April to May, the flower heads are small, with a diameter of about 1 cm, arranged in an umbrella shape. Achenes have 10 edges, are tomentose, and have 1 round pale white crown hairs at the top.
