What are the records of China's ancient geography?
In ancient China, geographical records were a part of history. There are "geographical records" in the official history and counties or places in the chronicle. Geography history books are ancient books developed in Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties to record the evolution and changes of geography. There are as many as 300 geographical works in this issue, the most famous of which are Pei Xiu's Map of Gong Yu, Lu Cheng's Geography Book, Gu's Geography Book, Pei's Records of Thirteen States and Li Daoyuan's Notes on Water Classics. Most of these historical geography books have been lost. Since Sui and Tang Dynasties, there have been many works on geography, such as Records of Yuanhe County by Li Jifu in Tang Dynasty, Geography by Yuhuan in Taiping in Song Dynasty, Reading History by Ouyang Guangzhi, Zhu Mu's Yu Fang Sheng Lan, Ji Sheng of Geography, Cun Wang's Yuan Jiu Feng Yu Zhi, and Gu Zuyu's Yu Fang in the early Qing Dynasty.
