Jiao 44
Explanation
Jiao hexagram is a superposition of different hexagrams (Xun is lower than Qian and is upper). The upper hexagram is Qian, and Qian is heaven; the lower hexagram is Xun, and Xun is wind. There is wind in the world, blowing all things; when yin and yang meet, all things are prosperous. According to "彖" and "Xiang", it means that the king is above, giving orders to the people below, popular in the world, in harmony with people's wishes, and the rule of law is great. Therefore, the hexagram is called Qiao. The hexagram Jiao explains the principle of guarding against evil. Fortitude should be combined with righteousness to complement each other. If you encounter evil, you will inevitably fall into its trap and be harmed by it. Therefore, you must be more vigilant, be on tight guard, and stop evil as soon as it occurs. Containment measures should be taken to prevent the expansion of evil influence. Even in an isolated and helpless situation, do not try to take advantage of evil forces. Although choosing such a resolute and aloof attitude is intolerant, it is the safest way to avoid being infected by evil. However, there is no absolute good or evil in heaven and earth. Depending on the timing and application, evil deeds can also be used for good, depending on the motivation. Therefore, we should also be tolerant, so that we can get close to the masses and gain broad support. The waxing and waning of yin and yang is a normal law of nature, which is difficult to violate. As long as we are fortified, firm in our beliefs, uphold justice, and tolerate evil, we can prevent the spread of evil and make it disappear naturally over time.

Jiao: Women are strong [1], do not use [2] women.
Notes
[1] Zhuang: means "戕", injury.
[2] Take: pass "marry".
Translation
Hexagram: Dreaming about a woman being injured is not conducive to marrying her.
Analysis
The hexagram Xiu explains the principle of yin and yang meeting and yang suppressing yin.
Original text
"彖" says: Jiao, encounter, softness meets hardness. "Don't use it to get girls", don't use it with elders. When heaven and earth meet, the taste of things is like a chapter [3]. Just meet Zhongzheng, and the world will be prosperous. What a great righteousness!
Notes
[3] Pinwu: objects, all things. Salty: both. Chapter: lush.
Translation
"Long Ci" says: "姤" means encounter, which means that the sixth yin Yao meets the other five yang Yao. The hexagram says that "it is not conducive to marrying a girl" because the symbol of the hexagram is that one Yin Yao meets five Yang Yao, just like a woman meets five men, and it is difficult for them to get along for a long time. The hexagram also shows: the communication between heaven and earth, the exchange of yin and yang, and the growth and expansion of all kinds of creatures. The Nine-Two Yang Yao and the Nine-Five Yang Yao are located in the middle of the lower hexagram and the upper hexagram respectively, just like the monarch and his ministers are in their respective positions, adhering to the middle and right way, so the right way prevails in the world. In line with the times and in accordance with the time sequence, the significance of the Xi Gua is very important.
Analysis
Only when heaven and earth meet and intersect can the world be stimulated with vitality. The flowering of the flowering, the budding of the budding, the fruiting of the fruiting. Chickens hatch eggs, fish throw seeds, animals give birth to babies, whether they are animals or plants, they will be passed down from generation to generation naturally. Only when a strong person meets a good wife can he devote himself to his career with confidence and boldness.
Original text
"Xiang" said: There is wind in the world, Jiao. Later, Shi Minggao [4] was given to the four directions.
Notes
[4] Gao: report.
Translation
"Xiangci" says: The upper hexagram of this hexagram is Qian, and Qian is the sky; the lower hexagram is Xun, and Xun is the wind. It can be seen from this that there is wind in the world, which is the symbol of Xiu Gua. The king observes this hexagram, imitates the way the wind blows on all things, imparts instruction to the world, and announces it to all directions.
Analysis
The integration and intersection of everything in the world will be subject to certain restrictions. Therefore, we must distinguish between good and evil and treat them rationally.

The sixth day of the lunar month: tied to Jin Zheng [5], chastity and good luck. If you are going somewhere, you will see bad luck. The pigs are wandering [6]. "Xiang" says: "It is tied to the golden stick", which is also tied in Judo.
Notes
[5] Jinzhu (chì): brass shake handle. Zhe, the handle of the winding car.
[6]Lei: thin. Pig: pig. Fu: Tong "桴", traction. 耢躅(zhí zhú): Hesitant and hesitant.
Translation
Sixth day of the lunar month: A thin and soft thread is attached to the brass handle, which is an auspicious sign. If you go astray, you will be in danger. It's like an emaciated pig being dragged back unwillingly. "Xiang Ci" says: "A thin and soft thread is attached to a brass pin", which means that soft things are tied to hard things, just like a weak person is attached to a strong person.
Analysis
The sixth day of the lunar month is the yin that begins to occur under the pure yang. As long as it can be prevented, the villain's power cannot be formed. So, like a strong brake made of metal, stop the villain. If you stick to the right path in this way, you will definitely have good luck. If you indulge the villain, the gentleman will be harmed by the villain and be in danger. However, a villain will never be willing to be lonely. Although there is only one shadow, like a thin pig, this pig is constantly wandering around, always waiting for opportunities. A gentleman must be on guard. "Xiangci" said: The reason why gold is used to tie the knot is to contain Yinrou. This line explains: We must be on strict guard against villains and strictly stop them before their power is established.
Original text
Ninety-two: There is fish in the bag [7], no blame, bad luck [8]. "Xiang" says: "There are fishes in the bag", which means that the righteousness is not as good as the guest.
Notes
[7] Bao: Tong "Pao", kitchen.
[8] Bin: banquet guests.
Translation
Ninety-two: If there are fish in the kitchen, there will be no disaster, but it will not be conducive to entertaining guests. "Xiang Ci" says: "There are fish in the kitchen" and it is not suitable to entertain guests.
Analysis
The 92nd day and the 6th day of the lunar month are closely connected, that is, they meet. Although the sixth day corresponds to the ninth day, the encounter in this hexagram is more valued than the correspondence. Ninety-two is yang, and the sixth day is yin. The sixth day of the lunar month that wants to move forward is surrounded by ninety-two and cannot move. This is like wrapping a fish with thatch to prevent the harm of villains from spreading. Even if you encounter a villain, there will be no disaster. "Bin" refers to other Yang Yao. If left unchecked, guests will inevitably be seduced and fall into a trap if they come into contact with villains. This line explains: The negative influence of villains should be guarded against, lest others be tempted.
Original text
Jiu San: The buttocks have no skin, and their behavior is [9], so there is no serious fault. "Xiang" says: "Their movements are second to none", which means the movements are not involved.
Notes
[9] times and: Tong "趑耄".
Translation
Jiu San: Injured hip, difficulty walking. There are dangers, but no major disasters yet. "Xiang Ci" said: "It is difficult to walk" because there is no one to support you.
Analysis
The hexagram "夬" in turn becomes the hexagram "姤", and the nine-fourth in the hexagram "夬" is equivalent to the "nine-three" in the hexagram "姤". Jiu San belongs to the Gang Yao Gang position. It is too strong and leaves the middle position of the inner hexagram, so that it pursues the opposite sex. Yang pursues yin, which is a natural desire, but the sixth day below has met the ninth two; when seeking upwards, the upper ninth is masculine and cannot correspond. Therefore, Jiu San was in a dilemma, making him restless. However, if you cannot meet Yinrou, you will not be harmed by villains. Therefore, although we are isolated and helpless, there will be no major disaster. This line explains: Even if you are alone and helpless, you cannot be with villains.
Original text
September 4th: If there is no fish, there will be disaster. "Xiang" says: The "fierce" of "no fish" is from the people far away [10].
Notes
[10] Far: far away.
Translation
Ninety-Four: There are no fish in the kitchen, and any action will be in danger. "Xiang Ci" says: "There are no fish in the kitchen" means that the person "will be in danger". This is because the Nine-Four Yang Yao is in the Yin position, just like a king who has lost his power and is far away from the people.
Analysis
The ninth day of the fourth lunar month originally corresponded to the sixth day of the lunar month, but the sixth day of the lunar month was blocked by the ninth day of the lunar month and could not come. The sixth day of the lunar month is yin, using the metaphor of fish. There is no fish in the kitchen of Jiu Si because it is far away from the public. The sixth day of the lunar month is a feminine villain, here it refers to the common people. Staying away from the common people will not cause disaster, but it also shows that you cannot tolerate them. In such a situation where people's hearts are deviating from their will, there will be dangers if we want to take action. This line illustrates: Only by being good at tolerance can we gain widespread support.

The Ninth Five-Year Plan: Pack melons with wolfberries [11], contain chapters [12], and die from the sky [13]. "Xiang" says: "Nine Five" contains chapters, which is Zhongzheng. "Perishment comes from heaven" means one has the ambition not to sacrifice one's life.
Notes
[11] To: Tong "lean", entangled. Bao: Tong "叏", 叏gua.
[12] Hanzhang: Very literary.
[13]Death: Falling. Heaven: Tong "Bian", the top of the head.
[14] No: "No", blocked and blocked.
Translation
Ninth Five-Year Plan: The melons are growing around the wolfberry tree. The hidden melon patterns are very beautiful, and a melon falls from above the head. "Xiang Ci" said: "The melon pattern of the hidden seal is very beautiful" as mentioned in the Nine-Five Yao Ci, which means that the Nine-Five Yao is in the middle of the upper hexagram, just like a person possessing the virtue of Zhongzheng. "A melon fell from the top of the head", indicating that noble ambitions could not be carried out, so they sacrificed their lives and died for their ambitions.
Analysis
Ninth Five belongs to the strong and upright character. In the throne, it is the main body of this hexagram, full of justice and strength. Even if you encounter villains, you will not be worried, but can tolerate them. The melon is lying on the ground, belonging to the yin category, sweet but perishable. It is used as a metaphor for a clever, flattering villain who is prone to corruption. Wrapped in a strong wicker basket, it is a metaphor for the character and strength of the Ninth Five-Year Plan, which is enough to prevent corruption. Yin and Yang, that is, the victory or defeat of the villain and the gentleman. Therefore, Jiuwu uses his own virtue of tolerance to calmly guard against the expansion of villains. When the time comes that is not conducive to the villain, the villain will suddenly fall from the sky like a meteor. This line illustrates: The ebb and flow of yin and yang is an inevitable norm, and only by being patient can we seize favorable opportunities.

Chapter 9: Jiao [15] His horns are stingy, so there is no blame. "Xiang" says: "It's the horns", which means being poor and stingy.
Comments
[15] Jiao: Encounter.
Translation
Part 9: Encountering a wild beast and being under its horns is not a good sign, but there is no major disaster. "Xiangci" says: "When you encounter a wild beast, you are under its horn." This is because the Shangjiu Yang Yao at the end of a hexagram is like a person in a poor situation.
Analysis
Shangjiu is like an animal's horn, strong and at the top of this hexagram. There is no upper position, so Shangjiu is isolated. Although they are at the moment of meeting, they are far away from Chu Liu, and they are strong and unwilling to give in, so it is difficult to meet. But if you don't come into contact with villains, although you may be laughed at as a intolerant person, you won't have the worry of being infected by villains, and there will be no disaster. "Xiang Ci" said: The top has been reached. If you think too highly of yourself, you will easily become intolerant. This line illustrates: Strictly rejecting villains may seem intolerant, but it is safe.
