The deficiency of qi and blood in vegetarians is due to blood loss and gas consumption during childbirth, or spleen and stomach weakness, which makes qi and blood weak and unable to change milk, so there is little or no postpartum milk.
Symptoms: Postpartum milk is scarce or even absent, with thin milk, soft breasts, no feeling of fullness, listlessness, less food, dull complexion, pale tongue, less fur and thready pulse.
Treatment: supplementing qi and nourishing blood, supplemented by lactation.
Prescription: Tongru Dan, Pollen Siwu Decoction, Vaccaria seed and trotters.
2. Stagnation of liver qi
Sudden depression, or postpartum seven emotions injury, liver failure, stagnation of qi and blood, leading to obstruction of chong and ren, hindering the operation of milk, and thus lack of milk.
Symptoms: postpartum milk is less astringent and thick, or the milk is endless, breast swelling and pain, depression, chest pain, loss of appetite, or slight fever, red tongue, thin yellow fur, and thready or rapid pulse.
Treatment: Shugan Jieyu, Huoluo Tongru.
Prescription: Xiaru Yongquan Powder.
