Author Lv Zuqian, whose real name is Bo Gong, was the great-grandfather of Lu Haowen, a "Renci Donglai County Hou" in the early Southern Song Dynasty (1064-11), and later settled in Jinhua, Wuzhou (now Zhejiang). At that time, most scholars called Lv Benzhong (1084- 1 145) "Mr. Donglai", while Lv Zuqian called him "Mr. Donglai Little". In later generations, Lv Zuqian was generally called "Mr Donglai". So this book is called Donglai Boyi.
