Records of Fulu in Ancient Books

In A.D. 164 1 year, Li Zicheng army attacked Luoyang, bringing this important town in western Henan into the territory of Dashun Army. The court was shocked by the news, and Chongzhen could not help worrying about Zhu's safety.

Luoyang is Zhu's territory. After the city was broken, Zhu went out of the city. He wanted to save his life in order to make a comeback, but unfortunately he was captured and executed by Li Zicheng's military forces on the way.

However, despite Zhu's death, there are still legends about him among the people.

Among them, unofficial history, who is widely circulated, mentioned that Zhu Zeng was made into a "Fulu Banquet" by Li Zicheng and died miserably. So, is Zhu's final outcome really as recorded in unofficial history?

First of all, when talking about Zhu, he has to mention his deep feelings for him.

Zhu's biological mother is the favorite concubine. Love me, love my dog, and Zhu easily became my favorite son.

For a time, I even wanted to let Zhu succeed to the throne, causing a vigorous "national disaster dispute."

After the "national dispute", although Ming Shenzong made Zhu Changluo, his eldest son, a prince, and named Zhu Wei, he always kept Zhu around, causing repeated speculation that he still had the intention of making Zhu a prince.

In A.D. 16 13, he finally succumbed to internal and external pressure and made Zhu a vassal. Perhaps I felt that I had wronged Zhu, and out of compensation for my beloved son, I left the richest Luoyang to Zhu as a fief.

According to the Ming History, after Zhu arrived in Luoyang, he "closed the restaurant every day to drink, and only women advocated music". He enjoys countless wines, songs and dances and wealth every day, and his life is carefree.

When Chongzhen acceded to the throne, "Chang Xun was near and respected by the imperial court", which shows that Zhu still lived a life of drunkenness every day and ate himself into a big fat man of 300 pounds.

At the same time, Henan is suffering from a once-in-a-century drought, and the people are selling their children and daughters to live easily, while Zhu, as the "richest man" in Henan, is guarding the mountains of wealth in his treasury and refuses to give any relief.

"The wine in Zhumen stinks and the road freezes to death." The downfall of Zhu finally attracted public anger, and people said that "the first emperor destroyed the world with a fat king, and Luoyang was rich in ouchi."

Because of this, when Li Zicheng's army invaded Luoyang, the death of Axe King did not make people miss it, but became a wonderful story in folklore.

Second, unofficial history studied the folklore of the death of the axe king. The most popular saying is this:

After Luoyang City was breached, the Axe King was captured alive by Li Zicheng.

At that time, Axe King begged Li Zicheng to forgive, but Li Zicheng hated Axe King's extravagant behavior.

He rebuked the axe king on the spot and said, "You are a prince, and you are rich in the world. When there is such a famine, if you refuse to give money to help the people, you are a slave. After that, let people play forty boards at the axe king.

After the fight, Li Zicheng asked the Axe King to tidy up. Immediately, several soldiers shaved off the axe king's hair, cut off his nails and scrubbed the axe king's body clean.

Later, Li Zicheng ordered people to set up a cauldron, put the axe king weighing 300 Jin into the cauldron, stewed it with several deer, and named it "Fulu Banquet". Dashun Army drank wine and ate meat together to enjoy the fruits of victory.

This story about the ending of the axe king has been circulated for a hundred years and once became the real death point of the axe king in many people's minds. It was not until a key material evidence was unearthed that people changed their views on the cause of death of the axe king.

Thirdly, the record of the cave was unearthed in Zhu 1924, Mengjin County, the city. Li Zicheng's attack on Luo and posthumous title, the death of Axe King, became the key material evidence for people to explore the death of Axe King.

According to "Historical Records", "On the 20th day of the first month in the fourteenth year of Chongzhen in Ming Dynasty, tens of thousands of thieves suddenly captured the city ... Wang became independent and rebelled, saying that thieves cursed, were generous and fierce, and died with the city."

It is true that Historical Records beautified the axe king, but the Historical Records itself shows that there was a cemetery after the death of the axe king, and it was not like unofficial history's records that there were no bones left.

Coincidentally, in the Ming Dynasty, Zhu was buried after his death, but the legend of "Fulu Banquet" was not mentioned in unofficial history.

Then, where did the legend about the death of the axe king come from, and is there any written record about the "Fulu Banquet" in the historical materials?

In fact, there is a record of "Fulu Banquet" in The Wandering of Kou written by Peng, a scholar in the late Ming Dynasty, which may provide enlightenment for the story of death circulated among the people.

However, even in the "Biography of the Ranger", the record of the death of the axe king is nothing more than: "The thief buys wine, the gentleman is good wine, and the deer is miscellaneous meat, so it is called Fulu wine. At the gate of the corpse king, he died on the promise of two people begging to bury the king. "

In other words, Li Zicheng just cut a piece of the meat of the Axe King, cooked it with venison, and the Axe King was finally buried by his entourage.
