Huang (pinyin: huáng) is a first-class word (commonly used word) in Chinese general specification [1]. This word was first seen in Oracle Bone Inscriptions in Shang Dynasty [2], and its ancient glyph is generally considered to be the original word of "Huang" like the appearance of a torch rising. Ancient ancestors worshipped fire, so "emperor" means nobility, and it also means solemnity and greatness. Emperor can refer to gods and ancestors in ancient books. Thus "emperor" means "big". Because "Sun" is the symbol of emperors in past dynasties, "Huang" is extended to refer to "Huang" of three emperors and five emperors. This explanation also has its truth.
In the Spring and Autumn Period, the word "Huang" was drawn as figure 4, and the word "Wang" was independent from the original form. The Warring States script inherited the Western Zhou and Spring and Autumn scripts, but the upper part has been deformed. The upper part of Xiao Zhuan in Qin Dynasty changed to "Zi". According to legend, after Qin Shihuang unified China, he claimed to be the first emperor, so he ordered people to change the upper component of the word "Huang" to "Zi". The original meaning of "Zi" is the nose, which is extended to the meaning of beginning. The word "Huang" composed of "Zi" and "Wang" represents the original king, that is, the originator, which is consistent with "the first emperor".
