Understanding the Bible in Seconds Out of Egypt 47- the most precious treasure on earth

Last time we talked about God's desire to live with the Israelites, and we asked them to provide everything needed to build the sanctuary.

Then, God gave Moses detailed instructions on how to do everything needed to be done in the sanctuary.

The first is the ark.

Older people, like me, should still remember Harrison Ford's famous film series raiders of the lost ark, which is raiders of the lost ark. There is an episode called The Lost Ark. I didn't know what it was when I saw it. Now that I think about it, director Spielberg is really good at playing, and this IP craze has reached a sky-high price.

The ark of the Covenant is a first-class treasure in the Bible. The center of all Israel is Jerusalem, the center of Jerusalem is the temple, and the center of the temple is the most holy place, where the ark of the Covenant is placed. Some people say that the ark is so important. So precious?

It contains a contract between God and mankind.

You found it, too, right? We have been talking about the Bible for so long, but we have never left this topic-Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit, and "sin" entered the world from then on, so people began to have death and endless pain. Since being driven out of the Garden of Eden by God, people have been away from all the beauty and happiness, wandering around the world and finally becoming slaves in Egypt. Now God wants to make a covenant to solve their problems, and this "covenant" is certainly a treasure among treasures.

Look at the babies in the world.

No matter what is precious, it is just a thing, either rare or exquisite, but in the final analysis, you can't eat when you are hungry, drink when you are thirsty, and wear when you are cold. When you die, it can't get 1 minute of life. How to compare it with "God's Covenant to solve human sins"?

Such a precious thing can't go to Israel? ? (Look) Go?

Don't be fooled, this ark is long gone.

Why not? That's another story. Speak slowly and you will understand.

Now God told Moses how to make the ark.

Although this ark is so precious, it is actually not big at all. It is110cm long, 66cm wide and 66cm high. It is wrapped in pure gold inside and outside, and there are rings on the cabinet for placing the poles for carrying the cabinet. There is a very special thing on the ark called "mercy seat", which is where God will appear to Moses and where God will talk to Moses. The width of the mercy seat is the same as the width of the ark, but there are two cherubim on the mercy seat.

Cherubims are winged celestial bodies, and people generally think that they are angels. The two cherubim on the ark faced each other and spread their wings to cover the mercy seat.

Then God told Moses how to make tables and lampstands. The table is used to place the bread, and there are seven lamps on the lampstand to illuminate before God.

Then, God told Moses how to make curtains and paneling, in short, to put up tents. There is one place you should pay attention to. In particular, God said something called a "curtain". The curtain is made of fine linen and used as a partition to divide the tent into two small spaces: the sanctuary and the most holy place. In the most sacred place, there are only the ark and the mercy seat on the ark. Outside the curtain, there is a lampstand in the south and a table for displaying bread in the north.

Yes, it's as simple as that in God's sanctuary. Less is more.

God spoke from the inside out, and then talked about the way of curtain columns.

Then, God talked about the altar outside the tent, where animals were barbecued and sacrificed.

This altar is square, not big, with a length and width of 2.2m and a height of 1.3. Unlike the objects in the most holy place and the sanctuary, this altar is covered with copper, and its utensils are all made of copper.

Finally, God talked about the yard outside the tent. There should be curtains outside the yard, 44m north and south, 22m east and west, and 2.2m high.

After architecture, what should God say? Maybe next time.
