Now, on the green land in the southwest of Dongbianmen overpass, you can see a stone tablet more than three meters high, surrounded by iron bars, which is the famous site of Pantao Palace. Flat Peach Palace, whose real name is "Flat Peach Palace for Defending National Peace", was built in Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in the first year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (1662). It is one of the famous Taoist temples in Beijing. It is located in the original Dongbianmen, south of the moat. There is also a side door on both sides of the main entrance. The temples in the Flat Peach Palace are not very big. There are three halls, including the mountain gate. The entrance gate is Lingguan Hall. There are bells and drum towers on both sides behind the temple. The main hall is the Queen Mother's Hall. There is a turtle mountain on the wall, and there are immortals who come from all directions to celebrate the queen mother's birthday. The Queen Mother of the West is the goddess in ancient myths and legends in China. There are legends about the Queen Mother of the West in Shan Hai Jing and Mu Chuan. The clay sculpture of the Empress Dowager Temple in the Flat Peach Palace is a fine clay sculpture art with a grand scale, many figures and exquisite sculptors. Behind the Queen Mother Temple is the Lvzu Temple, dedicated to the statue of Lv Dongbin, the father of Taoism. On both sides of the main hall of each floor, there are east and west side halls, which are dedicated to immortals such as Zhao Gongcai and Sanguan, each with its own characteristics and lifelike.
