What books are there in the open reading room of the National Library?

Open-shelf reading means that you can find the books you want to read on the shelf by yourself. Basically most reading rooms have bookshelves.

Closed-shelf books are in the stacks, and readers can't find them themselves, but they can make an appointment through the system and help you take them out through the staff.

There is an open-shelf reading room in the north area, which is mainly composed of Chinese books, periodicals, newspapers and classic books. The Chinese lending room, foreign language reading room and yearbook reading room in the south area are also open-shelf, including foreign language books and periodicals.

All the books you want to read can be found in the North District. Just ask the staff what floor these books are on.
