Li Zicheng was a very great leader at the end of the Ming Dynasty. He led the peasant uprising and fought in the north and south throughout his life. In fact, if Li Zicheng became emperor properly at this time, he would be considered a complete victory in running the country. However, after Li Zicheng defeated the Ming Dynasty, there were still people watching behind him, namely the Qing Dynasty, so Li Zicheng still could not secure the throne.
After Li Zicheng successfully broke into the capital, in April of the same year, Dorgon and Wu Sangui led their troops together to gather for a battle with Li Zicheng outside Shanhaiguan. However, there is another theory that Li Zicheng went to Jiugong Mountain in Hubei and wanted to survey the terrain for the army, so he took more than 20 knights to the mountain with him, and met some villagers. The villagers thought that Li Zicheng and others were bandits, so they stoned the officers and soldiers around Li Zicheng to death. When Li Zicheng was fighting with some villagers, he was hit in the head with a shovel and killed. So it can be seen that the possibility of Li Zicheng being killed in the later ending is relatively high.
