3.3 Properties This product is mostly irregular cylindrical, conical or spindle-shaped, with thin main roots and a few branched roots, with a length of 3 ~ 15 cm and a diameter of 0.8 ~ 1.7 cm. The surface is brown to dark brown, the root head occasionally has residual stems and membranous leaf sheaths, with shallow straight and thin longitudinal wrinkles, and gray-white transverse lenticellate protrusions and punctate fibrous root marks can be seen. Hard, white section, narrow epidermis, scattered with a small amount of yellow oil spots. The smell is fragrant and the taste is slightly bitter and pungent.
