What is the historical process of Compendium of Materia Medica?
Compendium of Materia Medica was published in Nanjing on 1596 (Jinling Edition), but unfortunately Li Shizhen has passed away. After the book was carved, Li Shizhen's second son, Li Jianzhi, wrote A Compendium of Materia Medica, which was presented to Zhu Yijun, Ming Shenzong, together with Jinling Ben. Since then, this popular book has been reprinted continuously. According to statistics, there are about 60 versions in China. Among them, Wei Gu Zhai Ben (printed on 1885) published by Zhang Shaotang in Hefei in the Qing Dynasty is the best, and it has become the basic edition of various editions since the late Qing Dynasty. Since 1949, China has published three editions: the printed edition of Commercial Press and the photocopied edition of People's Health Publishing House, both of which belong to Zhai. 1980, People's Health Publishing House published a collation of Liu Hengru, which was based on the first reprint of Jinling Edition-Jiangxi Edition, and was collated and printed with reference to other ancient books.
