Jing Night Reading: Daily Intensive Reading of The Analects (3)

1 1-(3)

Isn't he a completely moral person? Although people may not pay attention to him, he won't feel uneasy.

Other mountain jade languages:

1, dissatisfied, with anger. Gentleman is the name of virtue. Yin Shi said, "If you learn from yourself, how do you know if you are among people?" Cheng Zi said: "Although I am willing to associate with people, I won't be bored because I can't see what is right. It is the so-called gentleman. " Fools, who are happy with others, are easy to follow, and those who don't know and don't care are difficult, so only virtuous people do it. However, virtue can be realized because it is correct in learning, familiar in Xi Zhi and profound in speech. Cheng Zi said: "Happiness comes from talking. It is not enough to talk with a gentleman without happiness." -"Notes on Four Books and Chapters" (Zhu)

2, self-study, destiny is used, learning but people don't know, no need, destiny is also there, so I don't care. -The Analects of Confucius (Li Bingnan)

People don't know me, but I don't dislike it. Aren't you also a gentleman? -The Analects of Confucius (Yang Bojun)

4, others don't understand me, I am not angry, isn't it also a cultivated gentleman? Gentleman: the original meaning is a person with high social status, a person in the ruling class, and extended to a moral person. The extended meaning is used here. -"The Complete Translation of the Analects of Confucius" Yan Tao Ma Zhiqiang

Jing Ye Si

1 is not sentimental, but the emotional state when people are unhappy, which is normal among mortals. Not being understood, not being talented, or even being despised and vilified by others may all cause people's inner unhappiness, and ordinary people are unhappy. However, a gentleman is detached, frank and open-minded, and his judgment of his own value is acceptable, and he is not distorted by other people's eyes or evaluations. Therefore, such a situation is "people don't know what to do" and can be called a gentleman.

2. Yin Shi said, "It is up to you to learn and stick to your ambition. Whether others know it is someone else's business. What's bothering you? " This gentleman's mentality keeps a certain distance from the outside world, indifferent, and is not disturbed by the gains and losses of honor and disgrace.

3. Cheng Zi said: "Although being famous is a kind of enjoyment, you don't care whether you are unknown or not. This is a gentleman. " When a gentleman acts, fame and fortune are added values rather than goals. When Luo Xiang, a professor at the University of Political Science and Law, was surrounded by fame, she had a very clear understanding: "I always felt that everything I got was not worth it. Many honors are just straw boats with arrows, and everyone projects the honors I shouldn't have on me. "

4. Zhu said: It's easy to swim against the current because you know, and it's difficult to swim against the current because people don't know and don't care, so only those who have achieved virtue can do it. However, the reason why virtue can be cultivated is precisely because of the purity of learning Tao, the proficiency of practice, the deep joy and perseverance! Emotion and high EQ are two tracks of life. Walking with emotions is going with the current, "people don't know but don't care" is sailing against the current, and changing their minds is the only way for Xiu De to reach a certain level.

5. Cheng Zi said: "You must have inner joy before you can have external happiness. Unhappiness is not enough to be a gentleman. " The main idea of Mr. Yangming's theory of mind is "mind is reason", and happiness comes from heart. For those who don't know, gentlemen don't mind, so I still seek Xiu De and forget my troubles. Such happiness is a gentleman, and the soul of such a gentleman will not be disturbed by "people don't know".

6, "Book of Changes" has a cloud, "Don't use hidden dragons", but all talents, self-accumulation, have to wait for the right time, the right place, the right person, only if they are not talented, they will be smooth, not complaining, and take a step back.

7. Confucius said, "Is it right to learn from time to time?" Is it not delightful to have friends coming from distant quarters? Ignorance and dissatisfaction are not gentlemen? "The first sentence of learning, in my opinion, is the main purpose of Confucius to guide his disciples to seek Tao from Xiu De. The first sentence is how to learn, how to learn while learning, the second sentence is that you must have a broad vision when communicating with friends, and the third sentence is that you will be happy if you learn something without being known. These three levels, one method, one direction and one mentality.

8. Back more than 2,500 years ago, Confucius' classroom was attracted by Confucius' theory. Before the lecture, he heard the three basic levels of explanation-like the teacher's exhortation when the primary school students started school: "I want to study hard, make progress every day, study hard, practice hard, communicate with my classmates more, ask the teacher more, and make persistent efforts." But Confucius' homework is to teach his disciples to be "gentlemen", "saints" and "saints". There are 3,000 disciples of Confucius and 72 sages, especially the late Buddha Ceng Zi as the founder, Yan Zi as the restoration saint, Zi Sizi as the sage, and Mencius as the sage, and they are called "Four Saints of Confucius".

I thought about it in the evening and tried to translate it:

Isn't he a completely moral person? Although people may not pay attention to him, he won't feel uneasy.

I don't know my mind about learning Taoism, but I can still take it lightly. Isn't that to achieve the character of a gentleman? (Translated by Qushui Xiuzhu)
