Is Hongyan a true historical story?

Based on a true story.

Xu Yunfeng, a tall and perfect producer in the novel Red Rock, is mainly based on Xu Jianye. Xu Jianye's social occupation is accounting of Zhicheng Company, alias Yang Qing, born in 192 1, a native of Linshui, Sichuan.

Real identity is a member of Chongqing Municipal Committee, in charge of the workers' movement. The man who met Xu Jianye in the novel is called Li Jingyuan, and this character is fictional. What we really know in history is Gao, an underground party member.

Although Xu Jianye is the prototype of Xu Yunfeng, it is not equal to Xu Yunfeng. Xu Jianye's indomitable and touching deeds are really outstanding, but considering Xu Jianye's fault, the author made a big fiction about this character and transplanted some glorious deeds of other martyrs to him, such as Xu Xiaoxuan.

Extended data:

Many materials in the novel Red Rock are taken from real people. Once published, it immediately caused a sensation and was adapted into the movie Eternal Life in Fire and the Henan Opera Jiang Jie. Since the publication of 196 1, it has been reprinted 5 times, and more than 8 million copies have been issued, making it the novel with the largest circulation. At the same time, it has been translated into many languages for distribution.

1948 under the rule of the Kuomintang, it was in the darkest moment before dawn. In order to cooperate with the workers' movement, Xu Yunfeng, secretary of the underground workers' movement in Chongqing, ordered Zhigao Pu to establish Shaping Bookstore as a backup liaison station for the underground party. In order to express himself, Zhigao Pu expanded the bookstore and sold progressive books and periodicals without authorization, regardless of the confidential nature of the liaison station.

Hongyan, an epic title, is a glorious symbol of Chongqing. The novel irreversibly subverts the fate of reactionaries as a whole, and violently and crazily suppresses them locally. Dialectically unify the brilliant victory of the whole revolutionary cause with the tragic sacrifice of the revolutionaries themselves.

Red Rock was published by China Youth Publishing House in February, 196 1. The writer is a survivor of the Kuomintang concentration camps in Luo Guangbin and Yang Yiyan.
