The Six Classics are called Poetry, Calligraphy, Ritual, Yi, Yue and Chunqiu. It refers to the six pre-Qin books compiled and taught by Confucius. These six ancient books were not written by Confucius, but existed long before Confucius. Confucius just did some sorting work on them.
Like the Book of Changes, The Spring and Autumn Annals, The Book of Filial Piety and The Analects of Confucius are the main works to understand Confucius' own thoughts.
The influence of Confucius:
Confucius was the first saint in the history of China. Before Confucius, the history and culture of China should have accumulated for more than 2,500 years, and Confucius collected its achievements. After Confucius, the history and culture of China have evolved for more than 2,500 years, and Confucius created its new system.
In this 5,000-year history, the instruction of China's historical process and the establishment of China's cultural ideal have the deepest influence and the greatest contribution, and almost no one can compare with Confucius.
Confucianism has a profound spiritual influence in the surrounding areas of China, such as the Korean Peninsula (introduced in the Han Dynasty), Japan (stereotyped in the Tang Dynasty) and Vietnam (inherited in the Song and Ming Dynasties), and has formed a Confucian cultural circle in East Asia.
