What unit is the Cultural Relics Bureau?

Cultural relics bureau is an administrative unit. Its main function is to study and formulate the development principles, policies, regulations and plans of cultural relics and museums, formulate relevant systems and measures and supervise their implementation; Guide the construction of large museums and the cooperation and exchanges between museums; To study and deal with major issues concerning the protection of cultural relics; Put forward professional opinions on cultural relics in investigating and handling major cases of theft, destruction and smuggling of cultural relics; To undertake other tasks assigned by the State Council and the Ministry of Culture.

Legal basis: Article 8 of the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on the Protection of Cultural Relics.

The State Council cultural relics administrative department is in charge of national cultural relics protection.

Local people's governments at all levels are responsible for the protection of cultural relics within their respective administrative areas. The departments of the local people's governments at or above the county level that undertake the protection of cultural relics shall supervise and manage the protection of cultural relics within their respective administrative areas.

The relevant administrative departments of the people's governments at or above the county level shall be responsible for the protection of cultural relics within the scope of their respective duties.

What departments are there in the Cultural Relics Bureau?

1, office. Responsible for messages, meetings, confidential, archives, confidentiality, letters and visits, open government affairs and information construction;

2. Policy and Regulation Department. To undertake the relevant work of formulating the development plan of cultural relics, and study and put forward comprehensive policy suggestions and reform plans; Participate in drafting relevant draft laws and regulations; To undertake the organization of cultural relics protection publicity and news release; To undertake relevant administrative reconsideration and administrative litigation;

3. Chief Inspector. To formulate relevant provisions on administrative law enforcement supervision, case investigation and safety management of cultural relics; Organize the supervision of administrative law enforcement of cultural relics, the safety prevention of cultural relics museums and the supervision and management of fire safety; Responsible for the management of illegal reporting of cultural relics and the cooperation of cultural relics safety departments. Organize to investigate and deal with major cases of illegal cultural relics, and assist relevant departments to investigate and deal with major cultural relics crimes and safety accidents;

4. Department of Cultural Relics and Monuments. Coordinate and guide the protection of immovable cultural relics and the planning and implementation of major projects; Organize the investigation of cultural relics resources; To undertake the audit work of determining the national key cultural relics protection units; To undertake the examination and approval of cultural relics protection and the management of qualification and qualification identification; To undertake the related work of declaration, protection, management and supervision of world cultural heritage;

5. Department of Archaeology. Coordinate and guide the planning and implementation of major archaeological projects, investigations and topics; To guide the national archaeological and archaeological unearthed cultural relics work, and be responsible for coordinating the handover of archaeological unearthed cultural relics; To undertake the protection, management and utilization of ancient sites and tombs; To undertake the management of archaeological examination, approval, qualification and qualification identification.
