This legend can be found in the Biography of Dong Fangshuo quoted in Volume 473 of Tai Ping Guang Ji. Dong Fangshuo said: It is said that there is an insect called "Guai", which has complete facial features and is caused by resentment.
This explanation cannot be scientifically proved and is not credible.
In China's classical literature, we can often see the exclamation "strange", which is interpreted as "strange meaning" in the dictionary.

It is said that on the way to Ganquan Palace, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty once saw a red bug with eyes, teeth, ears and nose on its head, but no one knew it. So the Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty called Dong Fangshuo for identification, thinking that if he was well-informed, there might be an answer.
Sure enough, as Emperor Wu expected, Dong Fangshuo told Emperor Wu that the name of this bug was "strange", and this bug appeared because this place was the prison seat of the Qin Dynasty and held many innocent people, so the people were very sad and sighed: "Strange!" I didn't expect this sigh to touch God, so I created this "strange bug" out of anger.
So Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty asked Dong Fangshuo how to solve this strange bug? Dong Fangshuo said: "Anyone who is worried will solve his worries with wine, and your majesty will drink it with wine and it will naturally disappear."
So Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty had the worms put in the wine, and after a while the worms really dissipated. This is the legend of this strange bug. Strange insects are melted by resentment and will dissolve when they meet wine. In fact, the "singularity" in Dong Fangshuo dialect has a deeper meaning: exhorting Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty to be kind to the people.
