3. External application and medicated bath are the most commonly used external treatments in TCM. * * * External therapy can dredge meridians and harmonize qi and blood, and drugs absorbed on the body surface can dredge meridians. Gao Jiajun used "Baishuning Magnetic Medicine Plaster" and "Gutong Plaster" for external use, supplemented by oral administration of traditional Chinese medicine, and treated both internal and external aspects to achieve the effect of treating both the symptoms and root causes. After treatment of 57 cases of ankylosing spondylitis, the curative effect of analgesia, detumescence and morning stiffness is satisfactory.
4. Simple western medicine combined with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine, although effective quickly, is easy to relapse after drug withdrawal, and the curative effect is difficult to consolidate; Simple Chinese medicine has a good long-term effect and a low recurrence rate, but its effect is slow. The combination of traditional Chinese and western medicine can foster strengths and avoid weaknesses and achieve satisfactory results. The Department of Rheumatology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin Traditional Chinese Medicine adopts the combination of traditional Chinese and western medicine, supplemented by acupuncture, hot water bath, traditional Chinese medicine bath, hot compress, fumigation, infrared radiation and magnetic therapy. Depending on the situation, the effect is particularly good. In the Department of Rheumatology of the Third Hospital of Tianjin Medical University, Tongbi Decoction was combined with methotrexate (MTX) or sinomenine, chloroquine and tripterygium wilfordii polyglycoside, supplemented by iontophoresis of traditional Chinese medicine, and six needles were injected into acupoints or joints as appropriate, which achieved good results.
