The Cultural and Academic Value of Baiqiqu
Ouyang Xiu, Zheng Yi and others in the Northern Song Dynasty left moving poems for Baiqi Canal, and this long canal was recorded in important ancient books such as Records of Yuanhe County in Tang Dynasty and Notes on Water Mirror in Northern Wei Dynasty. Dujiangyan, Zheng Guoqu and Lingqu are recognized as the three major water conservancy projects in Qin Dynasty. The history of Baiqiqu is earlier than the three, but it is little known in the world. Its historical and cultural value needs to be further explored. Baiqi Canal is a famous water storage and diversion irrigation project in China, with complex terrain and high technical requirements. There are many great creations in the history of water conservancy technology, and the design and layout of buildings have amazed future generations and are of great research value.
