Where do Yunzi come from?

Go is an ancient Chinese art, and the chess pieces are made of many materials, such as wood, stone, gold and jade, but the most famous one is the "Yongzi" produced in Yongchang, Yunnan, also known as "Yongzi". Yunzi".

There are dozens of mineral raw materials used in Yunzi firing. Ancient books record that its ingredients include agate and amber. The formula was once lost, but was later restored by organizing the memories of old craftsmen. A variety of raw materials are put into the crucible for smelting. When the "elixir" is formed in the furnace, the points are taken out and placed on the steel plate. After cooling, they become the sub-forms. The quality of this "Yunzi" lies in the formula, heat, and craftsmanship. Operating in a high-temperature environment and sweating profusely in winter is hard-earned.

Yunzi is the Yunnan Go piece and is one of the "Three Treasures of Yunnan". Originally produced in Yongchang Prefecture, Yunnan (today's Baoshan), it was known as "Yunbian" and "Yunyaozi" in ancient times. It is now produced in Kunming and is a well-known chess product both at home and abroad.

The white seeds of Yunzi are as white as the sky, the sunspots are dark and translucent, the texture is hard, the color is beautiful and soft but not dazzling, and the shape is simple and vigorous but not frivolous. Hold it in your hand and look at the light. The white ones are dull and light yellow, and the black ones are surrounded by a green halo. Laying flat on the chessboard, it is solemn black and white. It feels warm in winter and cool in summer when held on your fingers. It is deeply cherished by domestic chess enthusiasts.

According to historical records, Yongzi began in the Tang and Song Dynasties and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It was loved by celebrities and scholars in the past dynasties. It was once a tribute to the royal family and has the reputation of "Yongzi's chess is the best in the world". Later, it was made in Kunming, and its quality became even more exquisite. Products are now exported to Japan, South Korea, Singapore and other countries.
