How did the word China come from? Some people say it's the Qin Dynasty.

There are many versions about this problem:

1. During the period of Greek civilization, China's silk had reached Europe through the Silk Road, so the word "silk" appeared in Greek, and its pronunciation in Greek was similar to that in Chinese.

Subsequently, in Latin, the pronunciation of "Si" is basically similar to that of "CHINA" in the future, while in French, the spelling of "Si" is "CHINE", which is very close to the pronunciation and spelling of English "CHINA", and finally it officially "transited" from French to the present word "CHINA".

In Hindi, "silk" is called "CINA", which means "the country of silk", and was later interpreted as "zhina" (pinyin, not pinyin). Silk is the earliest and most important carrier in the cultural exchange between China and the West. In the eyes of westerners, silk is a symbol of China's splendid ancient civilization. Therefore, it is logical that the English translation of "China" comes from silk.

2. Jingdezhen in ancient China was called Changnan. Because Jingdezhen porcelain is sold at home and abroad, people read the local dialect Changnan as China. The source is Jingdezhen porcelain.

A post I read recently explained that Jingdezhen porcelain was famous in the Northern Song Dynasty, and "China" was first found in some ancient Indian books, such as Mahabharata at the beginning of the 0/0 century BC, Manu Code in the 4th century BC and Ramayana in the 3rd century BC. How could Qin Shihuang come when these ancient books were popular? Not to mention the tea, porcelain and Changnan town in the Northern Song Dynasty. China's earliest fame spread from the Southern Silk Road to India, and then to western countries including Greece and Rome. In ancient India, China was called "China" and "CINA", and "CINA" appeared earlier than "China". The pronunciation of "CHIna" spread to ancient Persia as "CHINISTAN" and ancient Syria as "TZINISTHAN", and its roots all originated from "Chi", "CHINA" and "CINA", which means the country of silk.

"Porcelain" and "silk" are both representatives of the splendid culture of the Chinese nation and occupy an important position in human history. The descendants of the dragon should carry forward Chinese civilization and create greater glories! ! !
