Lu Xun once said that he wrote "New Stories" by "taking a little truth at will, dyeing it at will and paving it into an article", and "the narrative is sometimes based on old books, and sometimes it can't help but talk nonsense". But when it comes to "Casting Sword", it is said that it has its own publication, and "I just laid out the layout and didn't change it". Lu Xun himself recalled that "this is based on the books he read when he was young" and "maybe it was in the Spring and Autumn Annals of Wu and Yue or the Book of Reading Decisions". According to the investigation, the story of sword casting in the Spring and Autumn Period and the legend of sword in Yuejueshu are recorded, and it is also recorded in the Legend of Ley written by Cao Pi in Wei and Jin Dynasties, which is included in Lu Xun's ancient novel Hook and Sink.
It took Mo Xie three years to build a sword for the king of Chu. The sword has a public mother and is also famous all over the world. It's a female sword, and it's a hidden gentleman. Calling Wife Day: "My hide the sword is in the shadow of Nanshan and in the sun of Beishan; On the turquoise, the sword is in it. If you think so, kill me. " I gave birth to a boy to let you know. "When you feel it, kill the leader. My wife gave birth to a man with a red nose. Tell him. Red nose is the pine of Nanshan, not a sword; I suddenly got it from the post of the house. The king of Chu dreamed that he was alone, with eyebrows three inches wide, and wanted revenge. He was eager to buy it, but he fled to Zhuxing Mountain. I want to report when I meet a guest; Is the first, will serve the king of Chu. The guest ordered a wok, and the first three days and three nights were not bad. In Thoreau's view, the guest leaned against the king with a male sword, and the king's head fell into the iron pot; You can't live if you commit crimes. All three heads are rotten, so we can't separate nests and bury them separately. It's called Sanwangjia.
Gambao's Book of Searching for Gods in the Jin Dynasty (Volume 11) also contains records with roughly the same content, which are more detailed, so I won't quote them here. Compared with Lu Xun's rewriting, we can see that the story is not much different from the original. That's what Lu Xun meant when he said that his "Casting Sword" was "carefully written".
