First, The Analects of Confucius
1, original text
He is quick-thinking and eager for knowledge, and he is never shy to ask his subordinates for advice.
Hello, hello.
A person's real knowledge lies in knowing what he knows and what he doesn't know.
Do you know that?/You know what? Do you know that?/You know what?
Know silently, never tire of learning, never tire of teaching.
Mayer Xizh, Xu Ai Biyan, Huilun Biyuan.
2. Translation
Smart and studious people are not ashamed to ask for advice from people who are lower in status and less knowledgeable than themselves.
Knowing is knowing, and not knowing is not knowing. This is true wisdom.
Remember what you have learned silently, so that you are not satisfied with your study and don't know how tired you are.
Second, Zhu

I have tasted reading three times, that is, heart, eyes and mouth.
yücháng wèI:düshüu sān dào,wèI xn dào,yán dào,küu dào .
The heart is not here, the eyes don't look closely, the heart is not single-minded, it can only read, never remember, and it won't last long.
This is a good example.
Of the three, the heart is the most urgent. Since the heart is here, won't the eyes be there?
sān dào zh zhng,xn dào zu Ji,xn jàdào yǐ,yǎn kǐu qǐbüdào h?
2. Translation
I once said: reading pays attention to "three", that is, when reading, you should concentrate, read carefully and read aloud. If the heart is not in the book, then the eyes will not look carefully;
Because the mind and eyes are not centralized and unified, they just look casually and will not remember. Even if they do, they will not remember for a long time. Of the three, the heart is the most important. If you concentrate, will your eyes and mouth wander?
Third, Zeng Guofan

When reading, Gai scholars should be ambitious, knowledgeable and persistent.
gàI SHRén dúsh,d yàyào yǎu zh,d yèr yào yǎu shí,d sān yào yǎu héng,
If you are ambitious, you will never be willing to be dirty; If you have knowledge, you will know that knowledge is infinite.
yüu zh izéduàn bügān wéI XiàLiú; yǎu shízézh Xuéwèn wújìn,
Dare not be self-sufficient, such as Hebo watching the sea, like a well frog peeping into the sky,
bügán yǐyédézú,rúhébózh guān hüI,rújǐng wāzh ku tiān,
Ignorant also; Nothing is impossible with perseverance. These three are indispensable.
This is a good example.
2. Translation
Scholars should be ambitious, knowledgeable and persistent in reading. If you have ambition, you will never be willing to be inferior;
If you are knowledgeable, you will know that there is no end to learning. If you have no experience, you will not be satisfied with yourself. For example, Hebo looks at the sea and the frog at the bottom of the well looks at the sky, all of which are ignorant; With perseverance, nothing is impossible. Aspiring, erudite and persistent are indispensable.

Appreciate:
The first article is Confucius' discussion on learning methods and attitudes in The Analects of Confucius, which gives people a warning. The second part is Zhu's theory of "there are three ways to read", which emphasizes the study of mind, shows Zhu's unique views and inspires people to forge ahead;
The third part is Zeng Guofan's exposition on reading, emphasizing that reading should have "three haves"-ambition, knowledge and perseverance, which gives people a lesson.
Life is like a book. To open it, you need ambition, insight and perseverance. With ambition, there is a direction to work hard. With a direction, you can keep learning for it, and you will never be satisfied with your knowledge. If you persist, you will achieve your goal.
Set a lofty goal, divide it into countless small goals, choose this road, go forward bravely, don't look back, don't regret, and success is waiting for you.
