Quotation and translation of Zi Zhan and Tao Yuanming's poems

The original text quoted the poems of Zi Zhan and Tao Yuanming, and the translation is as follows:

Mr Dongpo lived in exile in Luofu and crossed the sea alone with his youngest son. Living in a thatched bamboo mat, I have tea and taro all day, but I don't have the idea of luxury food in my heart. I have no hobbies in my life. I take history as my garden and articles as my propaganda. So far, I have stopped. Being happy alone is a poem, profound and beautiful, and the old people are tireless.

At that time, Zhe also moved to Haikang, and the book told him that all ancient poets imitated the ancient times, and some did not chase after the ancients. Tracing the past began in Dongpo. I'm just a poet. I'm only good at profound poetry. Yuan Ming wrote few poems, but his poems are rich and vivid, which are beyond the reach of Cao, Liu, Bao, Xie, Li and Du Fu. I wrote hundreds of poems before and after, proud of it, and ashamed of it. Today I collected it and recorded it, with my husband and my ambitious son.

However, I know Yu Yuan very well. How can I learn his poems well? If he is a real person, he has feelings. When Yuan Ming died, he told me to wait: I was small and poor, and every time I was poor, I wandered from east to west. Sex is just clumsy, there are too many things. If you measure yourself, you will suffer vulgarity. When you die, you will be young and hungry. Yuan Ming this language, cover record also. I really have this disease today, but I didn't know it earlier. I have been an official all my life to confuse the world. So I am deeply convinced and want to teach at night.

Hey, honey! Yuan Ming refused to bring the villain to the village for the sake of five buckets of rice, but Zi Zhan was an official for more than 30 years and was trapped by prison officials, so he was in great trouble. He wanted to trust Yu Yuanming with Sang Yu's last scene. Who would believe him? Although, as a scholar, his advance and retreat can still be tested, as a gentleman, he must have his place.

There are few quotations, and Zi Zhan can learn from them. First, he asked the teacher for a quotation. Zi Zhan said that quoted poems have the style of the ancients, but he didn't think so. However, since he claimed to be Dongpo, his knowledge has improved day by day and he is as rich as Sichuan. His poems are more than those of Du Zimei and Li Taibai, so he is on a par with Yuan Ming. Although frogs suddenly follow, they often follow, and their harmony is profound, and the followers are also one or two.

Mr. Dongpo was demoted to Boer. He made his home at the foot of Mount Luofu, and only took his youngest son, Su Guo, across the sea. In Boer, he lives in a house made of thatch and bamboo, and eats bitter vegetables and taro every day. He has no idea of a magnificent living room or exquisite food in his heart.

Zi Zhan has no special hobbies on weekdays. He only visits historical and geographical works as gardens and enjoys articles as music. By this time, he had all stopped and just liked to write poems. His poems are profound and beautiful, and do not show the weak and tired mental state of the elderly.

At this time, I was also demoted to Haikang. Zi Zhan wrote to me: since ancient times, poets have imitated the works of the ancients, but no one imitated the poems of the ancients. The pursuit of ancient poetry began with my Dongpo. There is no poet I like very much, except Tao Yuanming's poems. Tao Yuanming doesn't write many poems, but his poems seem simple but gorgeous, seemingly thin but actually obese.

Even Cao Zhi, Serina Liu, Bao Zhao, Xie Lingyun, Li Bai and Du Fu couldn't catch up with him. I have written more than 100 poems by Yuan Ming. As for those works that I am proud of, I think I am not ashamed in front of Yuan Ming. Now I'm going to compile them into a collection and copy them down in order to give them to future generations of gentlemen. You write it down for me But what do I only like about Yuan Mingshi? Like I really have feelings for him.

Yuanming wrote a letter to Yan Tao and others before his death, saying: I lived in poverty when I was young, because my family was poor and I often ran around. I am strong-willed, smart and clumsy, and I have many conflicts with things. I estimate that if I follow my temper, I will definitely leave you a disaster. So I tried my best to quit this world and let you live a hungry and cold life since you were a child.

These words are about the actual situation. I really have this problem with him now. Because I didn't know this problem earlier, I have been an official for half my life, but it has brought disaster to the world. This is why I admire Yuan Ming very much and want to learn some of his strengths in my later years.

Alas! Tao Yuanming refused to dress up to visit the villain in the village for five buckets of rice; Zi Zhan has been an official for more than 30 years, but he was put in a humiliating and difficult position by the officials in charge of the prison. In the end, he couldn't repent and fell into a huge predicament, only to remember that he had sought sustenance from Yuan Ming in his later years. Where will anyone believe it? Even so, the reasons why Zi Zhan was an official and went in and out of the imperial court and official position or rose or fell can still be studied. Gentlemen of later generations will certainly draw some lessons from it.

When I was young, there was no teacher. Zi Zhan also made some achievements in his studies when he became an adult. My late father asked me to learn from him. Zi Zhan once praised my poetry for its ancient style, but I think it is not as good as the ancients.

However, since Zi Zhan relegated Huangzhou to Dongpo, his knowledge has been improving day by day, as rich and grand as a running river. Compared with Du Zimei and Li Taibai, his poems are better than theirs, so he is compared to Tao Yuanming. Although I run with him, I always fall behind him. I wrote some peace poems for him to pursue Tao Yuanming's poems.

Appreciation of An Introduction to Zi Zhan and Tao Yuanming's Poetry

Zi Zhan and Tao Yuanming's Preface to Poetry was written in December of 1097 (the fourth year of Zong Shaosheng in Song Zhe), and Su Shi was sixty years old. Su Shi liked Du Fu's poems in his early years and Tao Yuanming's poems in his later years, which reflected the change of his life thought. 1092 (the seventh year of Yuan You), Su Shi and Tao Yuanming wrote twenty drinking songs in Yangzhou.

Preface to Zi Zhan Tao Yuanming's Poems is a preface written by his brother Su Zhe for Su Shi's Hetao Collection. Different from the personality, article style and book writing of ordinary preface writers, Su Zhe's preface only describes Su Shi's bleak but not so gloomy later years, and makes a simple comment on the origin of Su Shi's articles.
