Why was Lu Zangyong, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, called a "generalist"?

Lu Zanrong's profile mentioned that Lu Zanrong was born in 664. Qian Zi, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, once lived in Fanyang (now Zhuozhou, Hebei Province). Lu Zanrong was born into a noble family. His grandfather is the minister of finance. He is also one of the most famous literary youths in the world. He is good at piano, chess and calligraphy. He is called a "generalist" by the world.

In his early years, he was famous for his outstanding literary talent. He is also a good friend of Chen Ziang. He once edited The Complete Works of Chen Boyu and praised Chen Ziang. He is also a staunch supporter of Chen Ziang's poetry reform. Good at writing articles and seal characters. In his later years, he took Wang Xizhi as his teacher. He has 30 volumes of poems, eight of which are included in The Whole Tang Poetry.

Lu Zanrong lived in seclusion in Zhong Nanshan, south of Chang 'an, waiting for the call of the imperial court. Although I learned some Taoist skills from Taoist priests, I also learned a good skill and couldn't eat for several days. Being a hermit and a Taoist is not his ultimate goal at all. During his stay in Zhong Nanshan, he has been thinking about how to find an official to do it. Finally, Lu Zanrong chose seclusion as his career path. As for Zhong Nanshan, he chose to live in seclusion because Zhong Nanshan was close to Chang 'an, the then capital. When the emperor arrived in Luoyang, he went to Songshan to live in seclusion. It is also for this reason that he won the title of "driving hermit". Later, Wu Zetian met him, invited him out of the mountain, and awarded him the job of collecting relics. A few years later, Lu Zanrong was promoted to assistant minister of the official department.

He is an honest and useless man in his official career. When he was an assistant minister in the official department, he had no choice but to betray his conscience when faced with all kinds of powerful officials. Later, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty exiled Princess Taiping to Guangdong for flattering her before. The party cannot protect it. I can only say it's a pity.

Lu Zanrong's deeds

The shortest route to the south is Lu Zanrong's most famous story. Lu Zanrong was born into a noble family. His grandfather is the finance minister, and he himself is one of the world-renowned young artists, especially good at piano, chess, calligraphy and painting, so the world calls him a "generalist". Because of his cleverness, he passed the Jinshi exam easily. However, Lu Zanrong, who passed the Jinshi examination, has not been appreciated and reused by the officials in charge of personnel and has not been assigned to his post for a long time. In this extremely depressed situation, he wrote an ode to weeds and made a lot of complaints. Then he went to Zhong Nanshan to be a hermit.

Lu Zanrong is an ambitious man. Being a hermit is not his ultimate goal. During his stay in Zhong Nanshan, he has been thinking about how to find an official at the foot of the mountain to do it. Finally, Zhang Lu chose seclusion as his career path. In ancient times, if a person made up his mind to be a hermit, the world would think that he was indifferent to fame and fortune and was a noble person. Whether they are noble in nature or not, they still have to do their job well. He didn't go to Zhong Nanshan to live in seclusion until he understood people's psychological state at that time. Why did you choose Zhong Nanshan? Because Zhong Nanshan is close to the capital of the Tang Dynasty. Living in seclusion in Zhong Nanshan, once you have a reputation, you can be known by the emperor immediately, and then you can enter the officialdom smoothly.

The emperor stayed in Zhong Nanshan when he was in Chang 'an. When the emperor arrived in Luoyang, he followed him to live in seclusion in Songshan. After that, everyone knew his real purpose, so they nicknamed him a "hermit on board." However, when Wu Zetian learned of his existence, he invited him out of the mountain and gave him the position of a herbalist in his left ear. Of course, because of the important position next to the emperor, it is easy to get promoted. Sure enough, a few years later, Lou Cang was promoted to assistant minister of the official department.
