Restore the view in favor of traditional Chinese characters

1. Experts hold different opinions on the theory of separating traditional culture. Luo said that traditional Chinese characters have a natural and cordial connection with ancient books, but the separation of traditional culture is not only the reason for simplifying Chinese characters. Ning Jiayu believes that the reason why the masters are unwilling to use simplified characters is because the content of the research is very professional and because they have been immersed in it for a long time and have deep-rooted feelings.

2. Zhao, a member of CPPCC, admits that traditional Chinese characters really reflect the structural beauty of Chinese characters. People often like to use traditional Chinese characters in calligraphy, but this does not mean that simplified Chinese characters are rough. In fact, many changes from traditional Chinese characters to simplified Chinese characters are well founded. Some are simplified Chinese characters that have been widely used in ancient China, while others are based on cursive script. "For example, the simplified Chinese character' Jin' is very complicated in traditional Chinese characters. Now "gold" has changed from cursive script. There are many similar figures. This change is simple and well-founded, not shoddy. " Therefore, Zhao believes that instead of abolishing simplification and restoring tradition, it is better to coexist with both. Simplified Chinese characters and traditional Chinese characters are not contradictory. Simplified Chinese characters will continue to be used, but literacy education of traditional Chinese characters can be added in school education, as long as young people can understand traditional Chinese characters.

As a language, it is indispensable to keep pace with the times and develop continuously. However, writing exists more as a carrier of civilization. For civilization, if there is no accumulation and lack of continuity, civilization cannot even be formed, let alone developed. If the leap-forward innovation of words makes future generations unable to recognize the previous words, the continuation of civilization is of course impossible. In this sense, when traditional Chinese characters are still the main carrier of Chinese civilization, when the voluminous documents recorded in traditional Chinese characters still contain many unsolved mysteries of modern civilization, and when disciplines such as history and traditional Chinese medicine have to look for clues in traditional Chinese characters, traditional Chinese characters obviously cannot and should not fade out of people's horizons. Some people may say that traditional Chinese characters can be learned by professionals in need without taking up all students' time and energy. However, when the popularization and education of traditional Chinese characters are completely extinct, how can we expect students who know nothing about traditional Chinese characters to choose to engage in professional research closely related to traditional Chinese characters? As for the resulting increase in academic burden, don't worry too much. Traditional Chinese characters can be seamlessly moved into Chinese teaching without even being included in the examination content. As long as students have an impression, they will not regard traditional Chinese characters as "heavenly books".
