When Su Shi was demoted to Huangzhou as an envoy, he built a "Tang Xue" on the hillside of Wang Long near Chibi in Yuanfeng, Song Shenzong for his own living and farming. After the house was built, it was suitable for heavy snow, so he painted all the walls of the room with snow and named it "Tang Xue". The present hall was rebuilt in 1986. There is a main hall in the middle, a bedroom in the east and a guest room in the west. The hall displays Dongpo Farming Paradise, Xue Mei Map and Hualien Map of Tang Melissa Zhou, and the guest room displays Eight Poems of Dongpo by the famous Japanese calligrapher Kato Xingfeng.
Xiang Anshi of the Song Dynasty once wrote a poem, which goes like this:
