Letter from Li Hongzhang

In the exhibition hall of Li Hongzhang's former residence (also known as "Li Fu") in Huaihe Road, Hefei, Anhui Province, it is rare to see a personal letter from Li Hongzhang, then governor of Zhili, to Wu Zan, then acting governor of Fujian and minister of shipping administration of Fuzhou.

Many people know about Li Hongzhang, but few people know that Wu is in favor.

Wu Zan (1823-1884), named Cunfu, was born in Lujiang, Anhui Province, and was related by marriage to Li Hongzhang. This batch of Li Hongzhang's calligraphy is made of eight lines of stationery printed by Senrongzhai, which is 23.5 cm long and 12.5 cm wide. * * * There are 12 letters, of which 9 are complete and the other 3 are incomplete. The letter ***3 pages, about 5 words. The content covers Fujian shipbuilding, overseas students studying abroad, maritime defense, international situation, foreign-related treaties, personnel arrangement, disaster situation, Zhili and other provinces' relief and housework. Letters also involved Shen Baozhen, Wu Dayou, Yan Fu, Guo Songtao, Li Zhaotang, Gong Zhaoyuan, Tang, Ding, Liu, Deng Shichang, Hurd and other important figures in the late Qing Dynasty. These precious letters and cultural relics have become the treasures of Li Fu's town hall.

A careful reader will surely ask, Li Hongzhang's personal letter to Wu Zan should belong to Wu Zan, and should be passed on to his descendants. It should be the remains of Wu in Lujiang. Why did it appear in Hefei?

But here is a little-known story.

Let's first appreciate two honest letters written by Li Hongzhang to Wu Zan (pictured):

Dear Mr. Chun Fan's family year:

The calligraphy of the first 14 days comforted one by one. Local rickshaws in the Middle East are lighter. It is better to take a sightseeing tour in the morning and evening and do a little exercise than to sit and respect your body and blood all day. The man named Yan wrote that his monthly salary in the shipping administration was 1 yuan, and he paid three months' salary in advance in July, and paid the toll in 1 yuan. Therefore, Yan was born an official, and he will belong to Taiwan Province in the future. Seeing that the school has just started, should you stay in the bureau to discuss everything, pay in October, and respect Hou Zhuocai.

hands, awesome.

life is different.

hong Zhang nodded his head.

what is the draft of No.4 iron ship that was not completed in the delivery list yesterday? The following soldiers should be added to help drivers. How much is the monthly salary per person? I hope I can find it in the chapter, so that I can do what I want. Merchants in Wenshang have decks for sale, and the draft is ten feet, which is exactly the same as the entrance and exit of Taniguchi. It is not appropriate for a ship threatened by steel to draft too deep. It is feasible for Yan to advance two months' salary and ship expenses from the overrun. I hope I can get the paper for approval!

This song

Sail, Brother Chun, in-laws, my Lord, Xun Qi!

hong Zhang nodded his head.

In his early years, Li Hongzhang adopted the calligraphy style of French, European and Liu, and especially liked Zhao Meng _' s calligraphy in Yuan Dynasty, which won great prizes. After learning, under the guidance of Zeng Guofan, a great scholar in Hunan Province, calligraphy became more and more vigorous. After the opening of the two rivers, I learned calligraphy from Jiang Youlan, a writer and calligrapher of Tongcheng School, and my style changed greatly. I learned from Wang, and I got a great open and closed atmosphere. In his later years, loving Wang Xizhi's preface to the holy teachings 131 is a magic weapon for health preservation. The signature pen of this book is both rigid and flexible, elegant and spiritual. This is Li Hongzhang's new look after being instructed by Jiang Youlan. Although it is a personal letter, it does not lose everyone's popularity.

Why did Li Hongzhang call Wu Zan "Your Excellency Chun Fan's in-laws"? It turns out that Li Hongzhang's honorifics are very particular. "Spring sail" is Wu Zan's name, "Dear friend" and "Your Excellency" are Li Hongzhang's honorifics to Wu Zan's according to the old ceremony. Li Hongzhang and Wu Zan were born in the same year, Li Hongzhang was born on the fifth day of the first month, and Wu Zan was born on the first day of August. Li Hongzhang is nearly eight months older than Wu Zan. "In-laws" means that Li Hongzhang and Wu Zan are children's in-laws: Wu Zan's fifth son, Wu Xuelian, married the eldest daughter of Li Hongzhang's sixth brother, Li Zhaoqing; Wu Xuefen, Wu Zan's eldest daughter, was betrothed to t

At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, Huajiashu invited teacher Su Jia-shu from Lujiang to teach. I don't know why this teacher named Su found these precious letters. After the Republic of China, Guo Hehua's family declined, and the school teacher Su moved to Sanhe to settle down. The teacher put these precious letters into the old edition of Preface to Lanting. By chance, Liu Yimin, an old teacher from Sanhe, borrowed Su Jiguang (a descendant of Su Shushi)' s Ci Yuan for reference, and accidentally found these letters and manuscripts. Surprised, in October 1984, he donated these precious cultural relics to the CPPCC Literature and History Information Committee. Subsequently, Hefei CPPCC Literature and History Committee handed these letters to the exhibition hall of Li Hongzhang's former residence in Hefei. It is said that Mr Liu Yimin won a prize of 2 yuan for donating these manuscripts and letters.

Although Liu Yimin and Su Jiguang have lived in sanhe town for a long time, their native places are Lujiang County. Although these personal letters written by Li Hongzhang to Wu Zan-ying have gone through a hundred years of vicissitudes, they have to avoid disasters. Wu and Wang of Lujiang are the first heroes, and Su Jiguang and his ancestors are also the first heroes. The old teacher thinks its value is commendable. Now, two old teachers, Su Jiguang and Liu Yimin, have passed away. The old teacher is a friend of my uncle Xia. More than 4 years ago, I often went to sanhe town to study calligraphy and poetry with Grandpa Yang Er. Grandpa Yang Er asked me to call my old teacher Liu Yimin "Father Si Liu" ("Father" means "Grandpa" in Lujiang dialect), so I know the circulation of these personal letters from Li Hongzhang very well. Loan customers have two meanings:

① Bad records, such as overdue for many times, compensation by others, bad debts, etc. Explain that the person has no solvency or insufficient willingness to repay.

② Multi-head loans, such as applying for loans from many banks and Internet financial institutions, frequent and centralized credit inquiry, and frequent loans. There are differences in risk control standards among institutions, and long-term loans show that borrowers have doubts about their solvency and dare not lend them more funds.

for such customers, future financial institutions will generally refuse their loans according to the requirements of risk control.
