Introduction to Bu Shangtie’s works

The ink used in "Bu Shang Tie" is thick, flowing and flowing, and the strokes are as sharp as iron. The thin and elegant style of his regular script is transformed into sharp brush marks here, and it seems that the square and vigorous brushwork of the Northern School of calligraphy still remains. However, the ink is extremely fresh, the strokes are full and plump, and the strokes are simple and less graceful, which is very different from the calligraphy style of Wang Xizhi or Wang Xianzhi that was popular at the time. Just like the postscript of "Daguanlu" by Wu Sheng of the Qing Dynasty: "The writing is sharp and vigorous, and the ink is fresh and moist."

Ouyang Xun once wrote several biographies of ancient people, which were collected into a collection, collectively called "Historical Notes" (or "Story Tie"), which was gradually lost, and "Business Tie" is one of them.
