Introduction to the Works of Wang Duo, a Calligrapher in Ming Dynasty

There are many books in the world, including "Sending a Mountain Garden" and "Sending a Lang Hua Ting". There is "Biography of the Draft of Qing Dynasty" (volume 79). Wang Wei's Five-character Poetry Volume was written in the sixteenth year of Chongzhen (1643), and it was written in silk, regular script and cursive script. It is another masterpiece of the same period and is now collected by Yang Sisheng of the United States. His masterpiece "Poetry Axis of Xiangshan, Luozhou" shows Mi Fei's partiality to the extreme in the knot, and then omits stippling to change the font by adding ink, which is really strange. In calligraphy, Wang Duo is a versatile calligrapher with diverse styles. Whether it is the bold block letters, the simple block letters or his soaring cursive script, it should be said that they are all first-class in the late Ming Dynasty. Why Wang Duo got such a high evaluation is inseparable from his efforts. It is said that in order to improve the level of calligraphy, Wang Duo "wants one post a day, one post a day", and the application period has never stopped. Wang Duo respected sages all his life and learned from Zhong You, Yan Zhenqing, Mi Fei and others. Therefore, Wang Duo's calligraphy is vigorous and powerful, and he is good at painting, writing, running and cursive. It is said that Wang Duo compiled a masterpiece and his own proud works in his later years. He once told his children and grandchildren: "I have accomplished nothing in my life, only calligraphy has achieved a little." After I die, I can find a good job, carve these works one by one and put them on the wall of the middle room for future generations. If future generations have insufficient food and clothing, they can also sell copybooks to help them have enough food and clothing. "Twenty years ago, as long as someone gave the Wangs two yuan, they were free to post. Now, this place has been completely protected.
