Yang Guoying’s artistic experience

After he lost his hands, over a period of time, he slowly learned to take care of himself and write with a pen. He loved painting since he was a child. After he learned to use a pen, he began to teach himself Chinese painting and calligraphy. He sought advice everywhere and copied a large number of ancient works. His works have been well received by some local calligraphers and painters.

In 1982, he began to learn interior painting of snuff bottles from Zhang Zenglou and Zhang Zengqi. The painting inside the snuff bottle is a unique flower in China. It is called a "miraculous and unique" art masterpiece by world art connoisseurs. A small hook pen is inserted into the snuff bottle with a spout the size of a mung bean to paint. It's hard for normal people to master, and it's even harder for him without hands. However, with his strong perseverance and love for the art of interior painting, he overcame many difficulties. After dozens of years, he learned little by little to use his two residual arms to hold brushes for interior painting, and finally slowly mastered the technique of interior painting. And he drew a very high level of inner-painted pots.

In March 1989, Mr. Wang Xisan, the founder of Hebei style interior painting and a famous interior painting master, heard about it and went to Shenxian County in person to visit him and his interior painting tobacco bottle, and gave him careful guidance.
