The difference between their fonts is that Zhang Kejiang’s fonts emphasize the frame and regular script style, while Huang Jicheng’s fonts emphasize smoothness and a sense of rhythm.
Zhang Kejiang: Member of the Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, Chairman of the Huanggang Hard Pen Calligraphers Association, member of the Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphy Research Association, and Distinguished Researcher of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Academy of Management Sciences. He has been practicing Yan and Ou regular script since he was a child, and has studied various masters for nearly thirty years. Its block letters are mostly inspired by European characters, which express a delicate, handsome, solemn and dignified, strong and free charm. He has won first, second, third and excellence awards more than 30 times in various national calligraphy competitions. In the past ten years, he has been concentrating on the research and popularization of hard-tipped calligraphy. His invention of the balance method is praised by experts as a major breakthrough in calligraphy research and teaching, and has been granted a patent by the State Intellectual Property Office. More than 300 types of copybooks have been compiled and published.
Huang Jicheng: Male, from Yunxian County, Hubei Province, a famous young hard-tipped calligrapher. Mr. Huang Jicheng has been passionate about the art of calligraphy since he was a child. In 1986, he joined the army and worked in the armed police department. In his spare time, he studied the theory of hard-tipped calligraphy and copied calligraphy famous calligraphy, gradually forming his own unique style. His works have won first, second and third prizes in many domestic and foreign calligraphy competitions. Since the 1990s, Mr. Huang Jicheng has published hundreds of hard-tipped calligraphy monographs, which are deeply loved by calligraphy enthusiasts and have been designated as special calligraphy teaching materials by many primary and secondary schools.
