Curriculum reform in Hubei senior high schools

Since the autumn of 2009, the curriculum of ordinary high schools in Hubei Province has been completely updated, and the Curriculum Plan of Ordinary High Schools in Hubei Province (Trial) has been launched, so "reading dead books" is useless-many elective subjects are set up, giving students the right to choose courses.

The course covers eight fields. According to the newly launched curriculum, there are 8 learning areas in the ordinary senior high school curriculum. The eight fields are language and literature, mathematics, humanities and society, science and technology, art, sports and health, and comprehensive practical activities.

Every learning field has several subjects with similar curriculum values, such as Chinese and foreign languages (English, Japanese, Russian, etc. ) in the field of language and literature; The humanities and social fields set up two disciplines: ideological politics and history; There are four disciplines in science: geography, physics, chemistry and biology.

The newly added fields of technology and art learning include information technology, general technology, music and art, and comprehensive practical activities include research-based learning, community service and social practice. It is understood that these courses mainly meet the basic needs of ordinary high school students for graduation and further study, and lay the foundation for the development of all students.

There are more elective courses than compulsory courses.

According to the plan, the content of high school curriculum consists of compulsory courses and elective courses, and there are more elective courses than compulsory courses, so students can choose them independently according to their own development needs! Elective courses are subdivided into two parts: Elective One and Elective Two. Elective course I is the designated learning content of the whole province, and elective course II is offered by the school according to the needs of local social, economic, technological and cultural development and students' interests.

Chinese elective courses include appreciation of China's ancient poems, appreciation of foreign novels, speeches and debates, selected readings of historical records, language standardization and innovation, etc. In addition, the school should also offer elective courses according to the needs of local social, economic, scientific and cultural development and students' interests, and students can take them independently according to their own development needs. In the fields of technology and art, home economics and life technology, simple robot making, performance, creation, calligraphy, photography and so on. Are included in the elective content.

According to the plan, the first year of high school mainly sets compulsory courses; In the third year of senior high school, students should be guaranteed the necessary time for sports, art and other activities, and encouraged to continue taking certain courses according to their own interests and needs.

Community service shall not be less than 10 working days.

According to the plan, during the three-year study in senior high school, research study should guarantee 270 class hours, 3 weeks of social practice and no less than 10 working days of community service.

In terms of teaching time, the teaching time of compulsory course and elective course I is usually 36 hours, and music, art, sports and health are all 18 hours. In three years, 270 hours of research study should be guaranteed, and the total credits before graduation can reach 144 credits!

According to the newly launched courses, students' courses are evaluated by credit and academic level examinations. Credits are used to measure students' learning process and state, and academic proficiency tests measure students' academic level in various disciplines. You can't graduate until your total credit reaches 144.

In the study of eight compulsory fields, students must get certain credits every academic year, and get 1 16 compulsory credits in three years. Compulsory credits include 15 credits for research-based learning activities, 2 credits for community service and 6 credits for social practice.

In elective subjects, students must obtain at least 28 credits. Among them, I have at least 22 credits for taking Class I and at least 6 credits for taking Class II.

Encourage students who have spare capacity or want to develop in many aspects to study more elective courses and get more credits!

In short, this major change, I feel that it is undoubtedly more difficult for the quasi-senior three students who will be promoted to senior three in September this year, but it does highlight the core concept of quality education. From then on, "reading dead books" and "reading dead books" will become history!

I also want to emphasize that starting from this group of students who entered high school this year, the future college entrance examination admission will no longer only look at the total score of the college entrance examination, but also refer to the usual performance of the candidates!
