Zhang Gongzhe, also signed as Xuguang and Gongzhe, named Rongtang, was born in Xingcheng, Liaoning in 1967. Currently working in the Counselor's Office of the State Council and the Central Research Institute of Literature and History.
Director of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, member of the Chinese Artists Association, member of the Xiling Seal Society, member of the Chinese Poetry Society, researcher of the China National Academy of Painting, tutor of Zhang Gongzhe's studio, part-time professor and master's student of Beijing Language and Culture University Mentor, Distinguished Researcher of the Institute of Calligraphy of Peking University, Researcher of the Chinese Seal Engraving Academy of the Chinese Academy of Arts.
Won the "Fourth National Exhibition of Works of Young and Middle-aged Calligraphers and Seal Engravers" and won the "National Award" in the "Fifth National Exhibition of Calligraphy and Seal Engraving". He has planned and hosted many academic forums, calligraphy and painting activities and exhibition selections, and edited art books.
