Zhao Puchu's life profile Zhao Puchu (1907-2000) is a famous social activist, Buddhist, calligrapher, poet and writer, who was born in Taihu County, Anqing City, Anhui Province. 1907,1191years ago was born in Anqing, and moved back to his hometown of Si Qian River in Taihu County with his parents. I studied at Soochow University in Suzhou in my early years. After 1928, he successively served as secretary of Shanghai Jiangsu and Zhejiang Buddhist Federation, secretary of Shanghai Buddhist Association, president of "Buddhist Pure Industry Society" and president of Siming Bank. After 1938, he served as director of Shanghai Cultural Salvation Association, secretary and secretary-general of Chinese Buddhist Association, member of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Cilian Relief War Zone Refugee Committee and director of the reception unit, vice president of Shanghai Jingyi Street Children's Rehabilitation Hospital, and head of Shanghai Juvenile Village. 1945 participated in the establishment of China association for promoting democracy. 1946, he served as managing director and general manager of Shanghai Antong Transportation Company and Shanghai Huatong Transportation Company. 1949 Director-General of Shanghai Temporary Joint Disaster Relief Committee, Standing Committee Member and Vice Chairman of China People's Committee for Defending World Peace, and Standing Committee Member of Asia-Africa Solidarity Committee. 1950, he served as vice chairman and secretary general of China People's Aid Association Shanghai Branch, deputy director of East China Ministry of Civil Affairs and Ministry of Personnel, and deputy director of the Political and Legal Committee of Shanghai Municipal People's Government. After 1953, he successively served as vice president and secretary general of Chinese Buddhist Association, director of Chinese Writers Association, vice president of China-China Friendship Association, vice president of China-Myanmar Friendship Association, vice president and honorary vice president of China Red Cross Society, and vice president of People's Association for Peace and Disarmament. After 1980, he successively served as President of Chinese Buddhist Association, Dean of China Buddhist College, Consultant of Senior Buddhist College of Tibetan Language Department of China, Chairman of China Religious Peace Committee, Vice Chairman of China Calligraphers Association, Standing Committee of China Democratic Progressive Party Central Committee, Director, Vice Chairman, Honorary Chairman and Vice Chairman of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He used to be a member and member of the Standing Committee of Shanghai CPPCC and a representative of Shanghai Municipal People's Congress. He is the first, second, third, fourth and fifth NPC deputies. As a representative of patriotic religious circles, he attended the first plenary session of China People's Political Consultative Conference, served as the first, second and third sessions of China People's Political Consultative Conference, the fourth and fifth sessions of the Standing Committee of China People's Political Consultative Conference, and the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth sessions of China People's Political Consultative Conference. On May 2 1 2000, she died of illness in Beijing at the age of 93.
