With the arrival of freshmen, recruitment activities for various university societies will also be launched one after another. Faced with such a large number of clubs and organizations, freshmen make their own choices, and the presidents of each association must think from the perspective of freshmen in order to do a good job in the activities of the association.
1. Make choices based on your own interests and hobbies
There are many types of clubs in universities, and not all of them are suitable for you. When choosing a club, you should first consider what you are good at and whether you are interested in it. Everyone's interests and hobbies are different. Students who are good at literature and art can join the college art troupe, folk art alliance, and drama club; those who like news gathering and literary writing can join the literary club and the school newspaper reporter group; those who are willing to serve as youth volunteers can Join voluntary organizations; students who are interested in broadcasting and hosting can try their skills at the school radio station.
2. Understand the club you want to join
The club is a beautiful scenery on the university campus and is the organization of the college students themselves. Generally speaking, student societies are divided into two categories: school-level societies and college- and department-level societies. According to the nature of the societies, they can be divided into theoretical research societies, cultural and sports societies, professional knowledge societies, etc. Then consider your interests, hobbies and expertise and choose rationally.
Theoretical research-based associations: associations whose main content and purpose is theoretical study, promotion and research, such as the Research Association for the Important Thought of the "Three Represents" and the Research Association for College Students' Scientific Outlook on Development, etc.
Professional knowledge societies: with professional learning, exchange and practice as their main content. Such as English Association, Calligraphy Association, etc.
Literary and artistic activity clubs: formed based on students’ literary and artistic expertise and common interests and hobbies, with the main characteristics of focusing on artistic enjoyment and improving artistic literacy. Such as dance associations, college student art troupes, etc.
Sports clubs: clubs formed based on students’ sports expertise and common interests. Such as: Football Association, Basketball Association, Table Tennis Association, etc.
Social service organizations: groups whose purpose is to serve the society and exercise themselves, such as volunteer service teams, etc.
3. Avoid being hasty and greedy when choosing
Students in the club have different majors, and the courses arranged each semester are also different. During college, you should be flexible according to your spare time at different stages. degree, choose your favorite clubs to adjust your studies and enrich your life. But study always comes first, and freshman year is a very important year among the four years of college. Freshmen must not put the cart before the horse. Although the activities are rich and colorful, they will not be worth the gain if they delay normal study life.
To join a club, you need to organize activities, attend meetings, and perform services, which all require a lot of spare time. Therefore, when choosing, students who have spare energy can join two or three clubs. Generally, it is enough to choose to join a club that you feel is most suitable for you.
4. Be confident in yourself
Before going to college, apart from studying, most students rarely participated in club activities. Stepping into college and entering a new environment, we need to have more confidence in ourselves at this time. Confidence is the prerequisite for you to do something well. University is a stage where you can show off as much as you want. When faced with opportunities, we must learn to fight for them.
Finally, I wish all the freshmen to leave a lasting mark on this excellent platform of the university.
