Reflections on participating in the calligraphy exhibition

When I was studying calligraphy at Shuangfeng Calligraphy and Painting Academy in June this year, with the encouragement of two teachers, Huang Fanguo and Deng Lianshi, I participated in the "Elegant Guofan Cup" Shuangfeng County's third calligraphy copying competition Creative submission activity.

This is my first time to submit an article. To be honest, I don’t have much hope in participating in the third Shuangfeng County calligraphy copy creation activity of “Elegant Guofan Cup”. After all, I have only been studying under the teacher for just over two years. moon.

Twenty days later, the good news came. The nearly 20 exhibitors from our Shuangfeng Painting and Calligraphy Academy all achieved excellent results, and three of them won the Excellence Award. The works of other students were all included in the exhibition, and I was lucky enough to be among them.

I am lucky enough to be shortlisted for my first submission, so I am very happy. This is undoubtedly a booster in the journey of learning calligraphy.

The third "Elegant Guofan Cup" Shuangfeng Calligraphy Exhibition is scheduled for January 5, 2021. Since then, I have been eagerly looking forward to the opening ceremony of the calligraphy exhibition.

The bell of 2021 finally rang, and it was the 5th in a blink of an eye.

I came to the county government together with calligraphy enthusiast Peng Binyu. The exhibition is located in the lobby on the first floor of the back building. When you step into the lobby, you will see calligraphy works hanging on all the walls of the lobby.

This exhibition *** displays 140 calligraphy works, including 10 invitation works, 20 excellence award-winning works, and 110 exhibition works.

These works are available in five calligraphy styles, are colorful and novel in style, showing the profound skills and innovative spirit of calligraphy authors in our county.

The successful holding of the calligraphy copying exhibition has had a profound impact on the prosperity and development of calligraphy and cultural undertakings in our county. It has also inspired the creative enthusiasm of calligraphy enthusiasts and created a strong atmosphere for calligraphy learning in the county. Mr. Peng Binyu, who was standing next to me, asked me about the deadline for the exhibition. It turned out that he wanted to bring his grandson to visit the exhibition to feel the good atmosphere and cultivate his children's interest in learning calligraphy.

Slowly, the hall was filled with people, some of whom were admiring in groups and expressing their own opinions, and some who were admiring and studying alone.

I looked for my own works while looking at them. I knew that among the 140 works on display, I had the least knowledge, but entering the exhibition this time gave me confidence in myself. I also know very well that it takes a day to freeze three feet. If I want to go further and further on the road of calligraphy, I have to not slack off or be lazy, and practice hard and seriously.

While I was slowly appreciating the work, a man came up to me and pointed and said he knew me. I was confused and thought I had amnesia, so I had to shamelessly ask him who he was. It turned out to be Mr. Wang Fong, an aboriginal cultural friend, and we were “strangers” we had known for a long time. He also loves calligraphy and took the time to come to the exhibition.

Here, I also saw Teacher Su Shou, as well as many well-known teachers in Shuangfeng calligraphy circles.

At half past nine, the commendation meeting began. Ten outstanding calligraphy authors received awards, including three female compatriots. I admire these award-winning authors from the bottom of my heart, especially the three beautiful authors who make me admire them even more.

During the visit to the exhibition, I met Teacher Li Kaiyan, the winner of the Excellence Award. As a woman who won the award, I especially admired it. Contemporary women not only have to go to work, but also take care of housework and take care of children. It's not easy anymore. If she can still achieve good results in her hobbies, then she must be a very perseverant person. How can I not admire such a person? So I took the opportunity to chat with her and learn from her experience. This is a very inspiring person. Because of lack of time, she adopts the method of learning calligraphy online and can study at any time in her spare time.

Her words reminded me of Peng Yixun. Peng Yixun is also from Zimenqiao Town. She has won many provincial, municipal and county calligraphy awards. Her hard work is obvious, and her daily homework Never falls. Our Zimen heroines also include Wu Qionghui, Teacher Yangyang, and Peng Yuanhui. Each of them is a master of calligraphy, and they are also tireless. They are all my role models and encourage me to strive for excellence.

There are 17 people from our Zimen *** participating in this exhibition, and three of them won awards. Among them, Peng Haiming is over 70 years old, and he still works tirelessly to practice calligraphy; Teacher Zhang Zuochu is also in his 60s Yes, he is diligent in reading posts and studying; Peng Huanru, Peng Yiwen, Peng Xiaoliang, Song Yuejin, Song Guoliang, Hu Lioyuan... Wuyi is not a master figure.

The achievement is not accidental. Every winner has put a lot of effort into the practice of calligraphy.

The edge of a sword comes from sharpening, and the fragrance of plum blossoms comes from the bitter cold. If you put in the effort, you will get something.

Because I came to Changsha to pick up my grandson from school, I can no longer study at Teacher Huang Fanguo’s calligraphy and painting academy. However, I have been insisting on posting in my spare time. I also took some photos and am waiting to send them to Teacher Huang today. Take a look and ask the teacher to help me analyze and give some advice.

Teacher Huang was very enthusiastic and helped me clear up my doubts. Many of my words were written incorrectly, and Teacher Huang could tell at a glance. He told me how to use my pen. In fact, he had taught me a long time ago, but my old habits are hard to change. Before leaving. He stopped me and said I would like to send you a few words, and he held down his pen to write. Seeing my hesitation, Teacher Huang explained it to me carefully. He said that as long as I did it, I would benefit from it.

After finishing speaking, Teacher Huang did not forget to encourage me and praise me. Thank you teacher for your good intentions.

After dinner, I took a beautifully bound collection of works presented by the Book Association, and took the advice given to me by Teacher Huang, and got into Secretary Song Yuejin’s car to return home. On the way, I discussed calligraphy with Secretary Song and was very inspired.

"Enlightenment is the result of hard work, and the mind is open to all rivers and the pen is free." It can be seen that in order to achieve success in the art of calligraphy, it is not necessary to study hard, study deeply and experience it seriously. Awakening is impossible.

Calligraphy is silent music, dance on paper, and poetic lines. The only way to get close to this goal is to work hard and work hard throughout your life.

After returning home, I thought about the little things I had gained from my calligraphy journey over the past six months, thinking about my first participation in such an important cultural event today, and thinking about how my humble work would be among the many in the collection. I was so happy to see the master's masterpiece that I couldn't help but turn it into words to share with everyone.
