Yan Meihua was engaged in comic creation in her early years. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he compiled and painted a series of martial arts comic books, such as Sword with One Word, Nine Dragons, Three Heroes Shovel Overlord, Double Knife Tiger, Four Righteousness in the South of the Yangtze River, Flying North, Three Heroes of Ruan, Red Warrior, Chivalrous Man, Woman in the Jianghu in Xinye, Liberation. He devoted himself to the creation of traditional Chinese painting, and his figures, flowers and landscapes are the three wonders of Yan. Now he is a member of China Artists Association, a librarian of Shanghai Literature and History Museum, and a special painter of People's Daily Shenzhou Painting and Calligraphy Institute. In his youth, he studied western painting from Yan, and later he studied Chinese painting from Lai Chusheng.
