Calligraphy works published by Ouyang Zhongshi

Mr Ouyang Zhongshi, born in 1928, is a native of Taian, Shandong province, and graduated from Peking University. He has a profound knowledge of Chinese studies and various artistic talents. He has high attainments in logic, phonology, drama, calligraphy, Chinese pedagogy and other professional fields, and is good at calligraphy, painting, Peking Opera performance and poetry music creation. His main works include History of China's Logic, History of China's Logic Thought, Calligraphy and China Culture, Introduction to Art, History of China's Calligraphy, China's Calligraphy, Notes on Cao Zhang, Learning Books and Jin Liang Series (six volumes). He also served as a member of China People's Political Consultative Conference, a librarian in central research institute of culture and history and an academician of China Painting Academy. Ouyang edited and wrote many important academic works, such as Three Masters of Art, Introduction to Calligraphy, Introduction to Calligraphy, Miscellaneous Notes on Calligraphy, Calligraphy of China, Calligraphy Course, Calligraphy and China Culture, etc. Ouyang Zhongshi's calligraphy is fresh and elegant, calm and dignified, delicate and elegant, simple and gorgeous. Reading his works, such as Appreciating the Mountains and Rivers, or Looking at Wan, shows his profound skill and innovative spirit, and creates a new generation of calligraphy style. He has published many collections of works, such as Selected Poems of Ouyang Zhongshi and Shen Peng, Zhong Shishi's Reading Ci Notes at Night, Family Instructions of Zhuzi Contemporary Masters, Zhong Shi's Reading Zhao Qing's Ci Notes and Laozi's Tao Te Ching. His calligraphy enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad. Personal biographies have been included in the series of China Taishan Children and China Qilu Children. Ouyang Zhongshi is knowledgeable and has comprehensive and profound attainments in China's traditional culture and art. He has written more than 40 kinds of works, involving Chinese studies, logic, drama, poetry, phonology and so on.

In the study of calligraphy theory, he has compiled more than 40 monographs and textbooks. It mainly includes History of Calligraphy in China, Calligraphy in China, Calligraphy Course (editor-in-chief), Cao Zhang's Notes, Calligraphy and China Culture (editor-in-chief) and a series of calligraphy textbooks of China Calligraphy and Painting International University (editor-in-chief, and self-edited important parts). Among them, "Calligraphy Course" won the second prize 1995, which is an excellent textbook for colleges and universities of the State Education Commission. In 2002, he won the first China Lanting Calligraphy Award and the Special Contribution Award for Education.

In terms of calligraphy, he dabbled in Zhou Jinhan, Jin Tiebei, Tang and even Ming and Qing Dynasties, learned from others and became the second king, forming a unique elegant and fresh style, which has a wide influence at home and abroad. His published works include Zhong Shi's Reading Ci Notes at Night, Zhong Shi's Reading Zhao Qing's Ci Notes, Xiao Kai's Moral Classics, Calligraphy, etc.
