The stone scripture building of Puji Temple was originally erected in front of the Main Hall of Puji Temple in Cicheng Town, Ningbo. Its site is now Cihu Middle School. The temple is said to be the earliest Buddhist temple in the south of the Yangtze River in my country. It was originally the residence of Sun Quan, the advisor and prince of the Three Kingdoms era. The stone scripture building of Puji Temple is four meters high, of which the height is two meters high. It is octagonal and 25 centimeters wide on each side. The middle part of the octagonal girdle is engraved with eight Vajras. The base is engraved with covering lotus. The maximum diameter is 1.8 meters. The overall shape is solemn and solemn. Stable and exquisitely carved, it reflects the profound attainments and achievements of the architectural art, stone carving craftsmanship and calligraphy art of the Tang Dynasty.

The scripture building has suffered many disasters. In 845, Emperor Wuzong of the Tang Dynasty destroyed Buddhism in Huichang and destroyed 4,600 temples. In 955 AD, Emperor Shizong of the Later Zhou Dynasty destroyed 3,336 temples again. After thousands of years of disasters and wars, the palaces of Puji Temple have risen and fallen many times. Today they no longer exist, except for the stone sutra pillars. In 1983, it was moved from Cicheng to Baoguo Temple for ex-situ protection. It has become the oldest and most complete stone-carved scripture building in eastern Zhejiang and is listed as a key cultural relic in Zhejiang Province.
