Wu Kezhuang’s information

General Song Zheyuan was neither from Mianyang nor visited Mianyang as an official, but he had an indissoluble bond with Mianyang. 1. In 1913, the right reserve army created by Yuan Shikai was changed to the Beijing Guard Army. Feng Yuxiang was transferred to the commander of the second regiment of the army. At that time, Song Zheyuan was the outpost officer of the second battalion of the regiment, stationed in Beijing. Beiyuan, became friends with Han Zifeng. Han Zifeng is a cousin of the "Chang Family of Curtains". The Chang family is a Manchu nationality and a native of Daxing County. He was a steward of the Internal Affairs Office of the Qing Dynasty and was responsible for the production and decoration of palace curtains, so he is known as the "Chang Family of Curtains".

There is a girl named Shuqing in the Chang family. Her mother died when she was eight years old. She was raised by her grandmother and father, who loved her like a pearl in the palm of her hand. He was taught poetry and calligraphy, well versed in etiquette, had a virtuous personality, dignified and quiet demeanor. Han Zifeng then acted as a matchmaker with Song Zheyuan. The Chang family saw that Song Zheyuan was handsome, talented and well-groomed, so they admired him quite a lot, so they entered into a marriage contract and became the best friend of Qin and Jin Dynasties.

In 1914, Yuan Shikai changed the Beijing Guards into the 16th Mixed Brigade, with Feng Yuxiang as the brigade commander and Song Zheyuan as the deputy of the first battalion of the second regiment of the brigade. Feng Yuxiang was ordered to quell Bai Lang's uprising and moved to Henan, Shaanxi and Gansu. Song Zheyuan, who was in military service, was unable to consummate the marriage. In 1915, Sichuan Ji Brigade mutinied. Hu Jingyi, the governor of Sichuan, asked the army to quell the rebellion. Feng Yuxiang was ordered to lead his troops to Hanzhong. Not long after, Chen Huan took charge of Sichuan on behalf of Hu Jingyi, so he transferred Feng Yuxiang to lead the 16th Mixed Brigade into Sichuan. Stationed in Guangyuan in May, Song Zheyuan was promoted to deputy of the first regiment of the brigade. The Chang family immediately sent their daughter to Sichuan to get married. When they arrived in Guangyuan, the Qia troops were ordered to move their defenses immediately, so the wedding had to be postponed. It wasn't until Feng Yuxiang was stationed in Mianyang that he decided on a wedding date, and the wedding was scheduled to be held on New Year's Day in 1916. During the holiday, a simple but grand wedding was held at the residence of Wen Ji, the magistrate of Mianzhou in the Qing Dynasty, known as the "Wen Mansion" in the world. 2. The whole country was saddened by the fall of Mianyang. In March 1938, the Japanese army fell into Xinxiang. General Song Zheyuan resigned from the post of commander-in-chief of the First Group due to illness and was changed to deputy commander-in-chief of the first theater. In May 1939, he entered Sichuan and went to Guan County (now Dujiangyan City) for treatment and recuperation. In the spring of 1940, he planned to go north to Caijiapo, Xi'an to recuperate (because there were many old subordinates there). On March 11th, I visited Mianyang and revisited my old place. I was filled with emotions and stopped for a while. Living in Yongan Apartment on Yanshi Street.

One week after General Song arrived in Mianyang, he suddenly vomited blood and was unable to eat. When the bleeding stopped, he fell into a coma. One day when I woke up, I was thinking about my mother, Mrs. Shen, who was far away in Tianjin and could not be raised. I couldn't help but burst into tears and said to Mrs. Chang: "If my illness can be cured, I will be a human being again." Then he met his colleagues Qin Dechun and Guo Zhi. Han said: "Soldiers cannot die on the battlefield. Instead, they are bedridden. They cannot participate in the battle and defeat Japan. They cannot see victory. They cannot die in peace. I hope you will work hard." In the past few days, Yi Zhen had barely heard about the war and it was hard to say anything. . On April 4, he lay down and left his last words. He died in Yongan Apartment at noon on April 5.

The sad news that General Song Zheyuan died of illness in Mianyang was immediately telegraphed to the Central Committee of the National Government. The Nationalist Government expressly commended him and posthumously awarded him the title of first-class general. After Cheng Qian heard the news, he first proposed holding a state funeral for General Song Zheyuan, and Mingda at home also called him. The Nationalist Government gave up on the grounds that "all state funerals during the Anti-Japanese War have been postponed and have been settled." Then Zhu Mingtao, the director of the Military Commission, was immediately assigned to go to Mianyang with a funeral expenses of 5,000 yuan. He also ordered Qin Dechun, the counselor of the Military Commission who was already in Mianyang, to take care of the funeral and the aftermath. Chiang Kai-shek paid a memorial tribute of 10,000 yuan, and the National Government's party, government, and military officials, including Lin Sen, Chiang Kai-shek, Feng Yuxiang, and He Yingqin, as well as military and political officials from various provinces, sent telegrams of condolence, elegiac couplets, and condolences. A total of 132 letters and telegrams, 71 elegiac banners and 589 elegiac couplets were received. Chiang Kai-shek specially dispatched He Guoguang, director of the Chengdu Mission, to deliver a memorial letter to pay homage on his behalf. Feng Yuxiang, He Yingqin, Deng Xihou, Pan Wenhua, Chen Chengxi, Wanshoushan, Qin Dechun, and Mianyang Commissioner Zhong Tidao and others came to pay homage in person. The funeral was held on April 17. From Yong'an Apartment on Yanshi Street to Fujiang Ferry, there were incense burners and road memorials set up along the way. Thousands of employees of various government agencies, teachers and students of schools, wearing green gauze, attended the funeral. 3. Fule Mountain had the honor to bury the bones of loyal people and the funeral was completed, that is, the cemetery was built. Li Xiantang took charge of the construction, and Mianyang county and county officials and gentry and merchants actively assisted. Wu Kezhuang, a native of Mianyang, chose an auspicious site in Fule Mountain, purchased several acres of land, and built a cemetery. Zhang Hanshi designed the blueprint of the cemetery and selected construction supervisors. The cemetery was completed in the following year.

Exit Mianyang Kuomen, cross Dongjin, pass by Li Du Temple, and follow the path about two miles along the stream to Fule Temple. After hiking for dozens of steps along the trail next to the temple, you can see the " Therefore, several eye-catching characters ""pathway to the tomb of General Song Zheyuan" are engraved on the lintel of the stone square of the tomb path.

During the "Cultural Revolution", the garden was destroyed. Premier Zhou Enlai showed care and concern many times. It was finally rebuilt in 1978 after the "Gang of Four" was crushed. It was completed on the Qingming Festival in 1979. The original tombstone has been damaged and was re-written by Mr. Yin Changyan, a famous calligrapher in Mianyang, imitating the handwriting of General Feng Yuxiang. The restored cemetery is still the same, but it is larger and more majestic than the original cemetery. In 1985, the Mianyang Municipal People's Government erected a marble monument in the cemetery to commemorate the centenary of the birth of General Song Zheyuan. The entire cemetery is integrated with the Fule Mountain Scenic Area, and the old appearance has been replaced by a new look. (Zhong Likan and Nan Zhiping)
