When evaluating people's creative achievements, the convention sets a standard: the more irreplaceable, the higher the achievement. Among the five billion people who won the Nobel Prize, only about ten people won this honor every year. It takes several years for the democratically elected president of each country to elect one; It takes four years to issue hundreds of gold medals in the international Olympic Games. In the past two centuries, the French think tank of governing the country-the French Academy (which was formed by the merger of the French Academy, the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Arts and the School of Morality and Politics according to Napoleon's order) has only 250 lifelong academicians ... All these "rare" or irreplaceable degrees are considered as the symbol of highly creative achievements. Painter Zhu Dequn was not only selected as one of the 250 academicians by the French Academy on June 5438+0997+February 17, but also the first Chinese-American art academician since the French Academy was founded more than 200 years ago. His achievements speak for themselves.
1999 At 3: 00 pm on February 3rd, the French Academy held a grand coronation ceremony for academicians in the round arch conference hall of the Academy. 78-year-old Zhu Dequn, wearing a dress embroidered with gold thread on a green background in the Napoleonic era, boarded the sacred rostrum and delivered his inaugural speech to the drums and salutes of the French and Chinese honor guards. Later, at the sword awarding ceremony held in Countess Kang Hall, he wore the sword of a French academician symbolizing the honor of France's national treasure. At the coronation ceremony, Jean Caldo, an academician of the French Academy and a famous sculptor, praised Academician Zhu Dequn in his speech, saying, "In contemporary art, the richness of your works is unparalleled. In our eyes, you are a very creative artist. You have mastered and completed so many rare high-quality works, and your outstanding wisdom and personality have added new glory to our college. Your work is worldwide, so the scope of this new glory has surpassed the French border. "
So, how did this "French brilliance shining in the world" come into being?
The original source of "light" is Xiao County, Anhui Province, China. 192010124 October, Zhu Dequn was born in a family of traditional Chinese medicines in Baitu Town, this county, and there are many famous collectors in his family. However, it was when he was fifteen years old (1935) that he was admitted to the National Hangzhou Art College. Master Lin Feng Mian, who stayed in France, is the headmaster. Zhu Dequn is one level lower than Zhao Wuji and one level higher than Wu Guanzhong. Now all three are internationally renowned masters. This is no accident. Because Lin Fengmian taught China ink painting and calligraphy from Pan Tianshou, a master of traditional Chinese painting, he studied in French modern art and taught sketch and oil painting. Students should learn French and China culture. Zhu Dequn and others' original "artistic gene structure" is a double helix structure composed of two "artistic and cultural chains", just like the original double helix chain of life gene DNA. This is very important. This is the "life wisdom password" for Zhu Dequn and others to become international talents.
Zhu Dequn graduated with honors in the anti-Japanese bonfire in 194 1 and stayed at his alma mater as a teaching assistant. 1944 Lecturer, Department of Architecture, School of Engineering, Nanjing Central University. 195 1 used to be a professor in the art department of Taiwan Province Provincial Normal University.
These life experiences have made his "China Art and Culture Chain" continuously promoted and refined. However, he feels that the "western art and culture chain" obtained in Hangzhou Art College has not been fully developed. So he resolutely gave up his existing artistic reputation and academic position in Taiwan Province Province, and in 1955, he sailed to Paris, the world art capital, through the "art road" such as Cairo. Since then, his "Western Art and Culture Chain" has flourished rapidly, as advanced and exquisite as the "China Chain". It is this "double helix" that makes him famous in France and then in the world through endless combination and mutation. He has held more than 50 solo exhibitions around the world and received rave reviews. His works have been collected by more than 20 internationally renowned museums such as Paris Museum of Art, Taipei Museum of History, St. Louis University, Belgian Museum of Modern Art and French National Foundation for Modern Art, and won many art awards. His name was listed in the International Biographical Dictionary and Who's Who in Europe until he was awarded the title of "Academician of the French Academy" for life. No matter whether it is figurative painting or abstract painting, critics in the East and the West agree that Zhu Dequn is a master who paints the spirit of China's ink painting with oil paintings. He used rich and pungent color blocks to blast deep into the picture, pursuing the profound sense of space in the universe and the infinite passion for the charm of pen and ink, which won him great success.
Sullivan, a professor at Oxford University in England, once asked Zhu Dequn what he felt when he created. Zhu Dequn replied: "Looking at paintings and paintings, I feel that I am listening to the nature of the universe." What is this "cosmic music"? In his coronation speech, he said: "I am a child of the Han family, but I have been pursuing to combine the traditional colors of the West with the free forms in western abstract painting, and to combine them into new paintings with the spiritual ties of China's harmony of Yin and Yang. In metaphysics, what I pursue is a new humanistic spirit, which depicts the Yang universe and the Yin human beings as a binary and harmonious coevolutionary body. " Human humanism has experienced chaotic "natural humanism" and "scientific humanism", and now human beings are pursuing a brand-new "ecological humanism" in which man and the universe co-evolve. Zhu Dequn's paintings should be regarded as the voice of "ecological humanism" inspired by Dan Qing. The "Sword of French Scholars" specially designed for Zhu Dequn by Jaber Ferro, a famous French academician and sculptor, is very special. The hilt of the sword is inlaid with four pieces of jade used by China traditional literati to express their noble feelings-a piece of white marble, two pieces of flat and hollow turquoise, and an amber engraved with the animal face pattern in the Warring States period. According to the sculptor, the handle made of modern western stainless steel and ancient oriental colorful jade is a symbol of Zhu Dequn's painting style and the new humanistic spirit.
Zhu Dequn is a painter, but his inspiration to people goes far beyond painting. The relationship between middle school and western learning has been debated for a century. In this regard, Zhu Dequn lamented: "Total Westernization Theory", no matter how good, is just a cultural chain; Ambitious "let China culture lead the world trend in 2 1 century", there is only one cultural chain; Why are you so stupid that you don't learn from the wisdom of students and combine the two chains into a double helix with infinite variation?
