The most common forms of calligraphy are nave, banners, bucket squares, hand scrolls, couplets, screens, picture books, fans and notes.
Nave: refers to the works written vertically with four or six feet of whole rice paper. The aspect ratio is generally two to one. In the old days, it hung in the middle of the living room, hence the name.
Cross-dressing: The painting core is long horizontally and short vertically, which is often used to write the names or mottos of Zhai, Tang, Xuan and Guan, also known as "plaque".
Banner: Also known as Qin Tao and Vertical Axis, the core of the painting is less than 2 feet, which is narrower than nave's painting. The body is vertically oriented, and the aspect ratio is generally three to one or four to one.
Couplets: also known as couplets and couplets. Couplets are limited to three-character, four-character, seven-character, cross, and more than a hundred words. Book couplets should be written in the first part, and the second part is where the author signs and seals. If there are many characters, they should be listed in two or more lines, with the upper part from right to left and the lower part from left to right. This format is called "Long Mendui". Both couplets are written from right to left, which is called "Shun Longmen".
Handscroll: Handscroll, also called long scroll, is a kind of flag. This picture is narrow and long, so it can't be hung. It can be read by hand, hence the name Handscroll.
Dou Fang: In ancient times, half of the main hall was called Dou Fang, and its specifications were square. Later, all square works, big or small, were classified as Dou Fang.
Handwriting: also known as letters, letters, etc. Calligraphy is a sketch, but it occupies an important position in the history of calligraphy in China.
